RunCam TX-200 issues -
#1
Received my RunCam TX-200 VTX today and was really excited to have the extra power on KT-Bug.  Soldered it in to power, plugged it in to the camera (RunCam Swift Micro) and no video feed.  There is a grey screen and thee RX on the goggles shows there is a strong transmission on A-1.  The TX is transmitting, but the screen is blank.  At first, thought maybe camera...but it works fine with the Lumenier SM-25 so starting to think there is an issue with the VTX itself.

The camera SIG is wired in to the CAM (V-in) on the FC.  Then wired V-out to the input for the VTX.  Nothing, so tried direct wiring between camera's SIG and the V-IN on the VTX.  Still nothing. Dodgy

Re-installed the Lumenier and flew 5 packs (no video issues at yard ranges)...will mess with it later when I have more patience.  Bad time of month for these sort of shenanigans!

I read Oscar's review and was looking forward.  Might have a bad one.  Any other experiences with this VTX?  Am I missing something?

What voltage are you feeding it? Been eying this VTX. Like that there is no protruding display.

There seemed to be a few issues with the VTX mentioned in the BG comments by people who bought the swift micro and TX200 combo.

I have it soldered to the same 5VDC suuply that the Lumenier was attached to.  Same wiring, so I feel like it should have been a simple swap in.  The VTX appears to be working fine, just not SIG being passed through.

I did not see any real issues when originally researching, but that is not saying too much.  Seemed like a pretty solid offering from everything I read, might just be mine.  Attempted the simplest possible connection, 5+/(-) on the input.  Connected the camera cable to the camera and powered it up.  Still nothing but gray screen, though again confirmed that there is a transmission being put out on band (A) channel (1).  Goggles report no sig, hook up BAT and the channel maxes out.

I will be installing a VTX-03 soon as I have two here.  Going to solder the antenna directly to the PCB.

it sounds like the VTX isn't picking up the signal from the camera.
can you double check the soldering of the video wire on the VTX? make sure it's not shorted or having a cold solder joint?
You can also "unlock" the vtx to output 200mW and some other channels by holding the button for >10 seconds, try that and see if it makes a difference.

Other than that it could be a faulty unit. I have used this VTX in 3 builds and all working great...

Thank you!

I tried resoldering and finally soldered the old one back in. With the old one, everything working fine. This is after trying the settings changes. I think I might just have a bad one, and that is not a horrible loss. It flies fine with the 25mw usit, albeit with a little more breakup in certain flight areas.

I will see about getting the unit exchanged and try again. I was really looking forward to seeing if there was a difference!
