No battery to save weight, will take an SD, relatively cheap, and saves gyro data? It's like someone's actually listening to what micro-quad people want! That fish-eye does look very aggressive, though. I'd be curious to see how it looks chopped down to 4:3 and then dynamically stretched back out. You'd lose the FoV, but if the extra pixels look like that I'm not sure they're worth it. The ground is for dead people. I am not expecting Gopro colours but hopefully the image doesn’t have weird artifacts. • Posts: 21,294 Threads: 589 Likes Received: 8,982 in 6,647 posts Likes Given: 1,426 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 789 Another overview of the RunCam Thumb by Lee below... • Posts: 397 Threads: 26 Likes Received: 37 in 26 posts Likes Given: 3 Joined: Feb 2020 Reputation: 0 This looks pretty good I agree on the fish eye effect being a little off putting but to me its almost worth $50 just to have the audio I have one video in all my years of flyin with audio on it and that was with the air unit when it actually decided to record to the SD card that day lil • Posts: 42 Threads: 8 Likes Received: 6 in 6 posts Likes Given: 45 Joined: Jan 2022 Reputation: 0 (08-Feb-2022, 05:36 PM)joey Wrote: This looks pretty good I agree on the fish eye effect being a little off putting but to me its almost worth $50 just to have the audio I have one video in all my years of flyin with audio on it and that was with the air unit when it actually decided to record to the SD card that day lil If you look at Lees video where he is showing the gyroflow stabilized video vs no stabilized there is a massive reduction in fish eye. To me this is a winner. 50$ and I could put it on my babytooth or even a whoop! • Posts: 397 Threads: 26 Likes Received: 37 in 26 posts Likes Given: 3 Joined: Feb 2020 Reputation: 0 Yes I've been watching the insta 360 go 2 all shiny eyed since it came out just couldn't bring myself to part with the $300 this is a very affordable option that's awesome on runcam • Posts: 21,294 Threads: 589 Likes Received: 8,982 in 6,647 posts Likes Given: 1,426 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 789 Here is Albert Kim's overview and thoughts on the RunCam Thumb... • Posts: 21,294 Threads: 589 Likes Received: 8,982 in 6,647 posts Likes Given: 1,426 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 789 As if the RunCam Thumb wasn't light enough at 9.8g, Albert Kim takes it to another level by more than halving that weight with a naked version Posts: 6,113 Threads: 172 Likes Received: 2,287 in 1,834 posts Likes Given: 4,737 Joined: Feb 2019 Reputation: 100 xD nice, i need a naked one :-) • Posts: 4,731 Threads: 392 Likes Received: 3,231 in 1,827 posts Likes Given: 3,214 Joined: Apr 2019 Reputation: 101 Been hounding the local retailers about this lol.
