Since the cam's + is being soldered to the + on the board, having a wire from the board's + to vbat would be the same as sharing the wire of the + from PDB to the + on the cam right?

Yes you can as long as VBAT is getting the lipo's voltage, if you want to get an accurate reading in the OSD.
But i don't think it's a wise idea to power the camera directly from the battery as you might get noise/spikes from it. It would be safer/better to use the 12V on the PDB.

Hello 

-   I to have the RunCam2 and propose to use the Matek Mini Power Hub in the manner ....

   *   Connect the Camera (red wire)  PDB linked for cam/5V  
   ** Power the video Eachine Tx526  PDB linked for VTx/12V  

 So question regarding the powering of the camera..... if 5V powers the camera why connect the LiPo to VBAT terminal or is it not required to do so - thx...joe

It's not required to connect VBAT, it's only to measure the voltage of the battery and display it on the OSD. If you don't need to display battery voltage on your screen then you don't need to connect it.

Anyone knows how to calibrate (if possible)the vbat reading on Swift 2 osd?
Mine display a 0,2/0,3 volts lower than real voltage
