However when using my taranis X9D to try and navigate the runcam menu, nothing happens. Any tips to what i am doing wrong, I am using the kakute 7 FC. is the Uart unfinished, so i need to have a joystick and adapter for menu acess? • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 Sorry, but can you be a bit more clearer on the details? So you have connected the camera uart to the FC? - Camerra Rx to FC TX - Camera Tx to FC RX In Betalight Configurator > Ports tab for that UART did you specify “Runcam Device” in the Peripherals section? Then on the Transmitter: - To Enter Camera OSD menu: Both sticks center followed by Yaw right - Use Pitch and/or Roll stick to navigate through the menu • Posts: 14 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 2 Joined: Jul 2021 Reputation: 0 (28-Jul-2021, 01:11 AM)kafie1980 Wrote: Sorry, but can you be a bit more clearer on the details? But basically, I did as you describe. So when i booted the runcam and watch in my goggles, it says uart mode. However when moving my throttles as in manual, i can’t access any menus or navigate. • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 29-Jul-2021, 01:23 AM (This post was last modified: 29-Jul-2021, 01:27 AM by kafie1980.) Uart control when you power up the camera means the camera is ready to be controlled by a UART on the FC. Unless you short the ground and menu wires and then its going to be Joystick control. Once you Center both sticks and Yaw right it should say "Remote Mode" on the screen and from there on you navigate the menu using the Roll/Pitch stick. JB's video below should help guide you through the process: (Fast forward to the 8:30 minute mark in the video) Posts: 14 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 2 Joined: Jul 2021 Reputation: 0 (29-Jul-2021, 01:23 AM)kafie1980 Wrote: Uart control when you power up the camera means the camera is ready to be controlled by a UART on the FC. Then we'll see if it works or not. • Posts: 10 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 1 Joined: Jul 2021 Reputation: 0 Hi guys redding this post I have a similar issue. Hardware im using f722 basic Run cam phoenix 2 jb edition Skyzone 02x Bf 4.2.9 I have a run cam phoenix2 jb edition. From whst I've read it is possible to use betaflight to set up the cam osd. I have wired it correctly, checked and double checked. I'm using a spare uart. I've enabled run cam for said uart port in the periphials I'm using uart 2. When I plug in a battery and look through the goggles the in the top right does actually say Uart control. However, when I try and use the stick command, throttle mid yaw right. I can't access the cam osd. My thoughts are that I need to uninvert that uart 2 port. Just a guess. Does anyone know if its possible and how to uninvert a specific uart port, as apposed to all of them in the cli? Does anyone have any ideas on what this problem could be. Thanks guys • Posts: 14 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 2 Joined: Jul 2021 Reputation: 0 (29-Jul-2021, 03:33 PM)Lemon Turtle Wrote: Hi guys redding this post I have a similar issue. Thanks guys Have you checked in the flightcontroller manual if it supports inverted uart? • Posts: 21,174 Threads: 581 Likes Received: 8,920 in 6,599 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 786 (29-Jul-2021, 09:55 PM)nimrod81 Wrote: Have you checked in the flightcontroller manual if it supports inverted uart? All F7 MCUs natively support inverted input signals (unlike the F4 MCU's which don't and thus require inline hardware inverters), so if you have an F7 based FC then ALL of the UARTs support inverted signals. • Posts: 14 Threads: 4 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 2 Joined: Jul 2021 Reputation: 0 04-Aug-2021, 07:27 PM (This post was last modified: 04-Aug-2021, 07:27 PM by nimrod81.) Thanks guys Runcam support asked me to open the board of the camera and unsolder a component. Seems to be a bad batch. • Posts: 10 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Jun 2021 Reputation: 0 (04-Aug-2021, 07:27 PM)nimrod81 Wrote: Runcam support asked me to open the board of the camera and unsolder a component. I think mine has the same issue. • Posts: 4,550 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,245 in 1,064 posts Likes Given: 430 Joined: Aug 2020 Reputation: 118 Take a look at this post with the attached image: https://intofpv.com/t-runcam-phoenix-2-j...#pid149382 I do not have a this camera to make any strong recommendations if this will work. • Posts: 10 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Jun 2021 Reputation: 0 30-Oct-2021, 07:34 AM (This post was last modified: 30-Oct-2021, 11:19 AM by steviepoo.) Thanks for the quick reply! I unsoldered that absolutely microscopic component this morning and UART control works perfectly now. • |
