I have the latest firmware for the camera, so I am not sure what else I can do. In the process of contacting Runcam support now. Anyway, I am having trouble powering down the proper way. I have to press the top button and Wi-Fi button to do a force shutdown. Things was working for a few months, then this happened. Doesn't do it all the time, but more often than before. And yesterday, a new problem started. The video didn't record properly. The video would freeze but the audio continued without issue. Video was very choppy and distorted and just freezed completely. SD card is brand new. Class 10 card, so write speed is not an issue. Used it for months without problems. • Posts: 5,314 Threads: 672 Likes Received: 3,155 in 1,743 posts Likes Given: 2,027 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 sounds like the connection ribbon in the camera between the lens and processor board is loosened.. just a guess based on the choppy video / freezing issue. Maybe too many crashes knocked the cable out or something... I would wait and see what Runcam has to say about this.. • Posts: 1,149 Threads: 50 Likes Received: 704 in 450 posts Likes Given: 1,189 Joined: Sep 2016 Reputation: 30 Are you sure it wasn't just the replay that was stuttering? The way you describe it sounds just like when i try to watch raw videos on my slow-a.. computer... • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,738 in 2,835 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 Definitely not playback issue due to slow computer. Hesitant to open it and void warranty. Guess I will have to wait for Runcam. • Posts: 5,314 Threads: 672 Likes Received: 3,155 in 1,743 posts Likes Given: 2,027 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 (18-Jul-2017, 02:29 AM)voodoo614 Wrote: Definitely not playback issue due to slow computer. Guess I will have to wait for Runcam. don't... it's a pain to take apart and nearly impossible to put it back together! • Posts: 1,070 Threads: 70 Likes Received: 742 in 378 posts Likes Given: 577 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 44 In case you dont receive the answer from Runcam, it is possible to take it apart, but you have to start from the front of the unit - unglue the glass protector and you will find screws hidden under it. Unscrew the radiator on the back, remove it and gently push the electronics toward the front. I agree that this camera is not very serviceable sp treat it as a last resort. • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,738 in 2,835 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 I saw the video on how to take it apart. two days and still nothing from Runcam. • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,738 in 2,835 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 I just wanted to update everyone on my progress with the company. After asking for multiple videos and photos of my troubles and the condition of my camera, somehow they told me that due to too many crashes, my battery is damaged and cannot be repaired. I have not idea how they came up with that. The camera still charges and power up. It just doesn't turn off and now I can't even record. There is not even a scratch on the camera. They offered me $25 off a Runcam split. I am actually pretty upset. Let see how they respond to my last email. There is a one year warranty, it is not worth the ink it is printed on. I think I am done with Runcam. Will probably go with Foxeer or Gopro. • Posts: 72 Threads: 2 Likes Received: 32 in 22 posts Likes Given: 1 Joined: Jun 2017 Reputation: 0 Wow, got to agree that is not the support I expected you'd get :O Seems they are not only done with selling the Runcam 3 but also with offering support on it? • Posts: 12,099 Threads: 125 Likes Received: 3,738 in 2,835 posts Likes Given: 99 Joined: Feb 2017 Reputation: 388 So after back and forth with Runcam for about 2 weeks, they will issue a refund if I bought it from them. If I bought it from somewhere else, I would have to contact the reseller. Now, I have to deal with the reseller to get my money back.
