Runcam 2 and charge/Shutdown problem
#1
I recently discovered a load problem with my Runcam2

Indeed, when I put the usb cable to charge, it does not load every time.
I also noticed that when I press certain locations on the case of runcam, this one begins to load ... and stops charging when I released.
This is clearly a bad contact problem (on the battery connections).

Is there a solution to fix the bug you say?
I suggest you arm yourself with your Phillips screwdriver and a small piece of foam (I always use foam with both sides sticky, easy to hold it in place).

1. Remove the battery cover, battery and unscrew the 2 screws of the lens cover and the 4 screws maintains the case.

2. Open the top plate of runcam 2 (the one on which there are buttons)

3. Locate the white connector on the warp which is connected to the sensor module / lens

4. Place this connector on a small piece of foam (or other thick) as pictured.

5. Replace the cover, replace the lens cover, replace all, replace the battery and the battery cover.

6. Test ... magic, magic ... it works !!!

For french speaking you can find the original post on http://pimousse.be/index.php/2016/12/14/...de-charge/

Thanks Pimousse for this tutorial. After bricking my 1st runcam2 i probably pressed that button so often and so hard, it might need this fix too... Hope you don't mind me adding to this thread, didn't feel like making a new one for this. Smile

How to unbrick Runcam 2 after failed flash

I bricked my first runcam2 by a failed firmware update. I didn't notice the update-file was not automatically deleted from the SD card after the upgrading process. Then in the field (actually high up in the mountains lol) i accidentally pressed the button combo to initiate the upgrading process again, but battery didn't last, and after that, camera was completely dead. Luckily, just now i found this step-by-step guide on how to unbrick the cam:

Runcam 2 "hidden" OSD menu

I totally overlooked this, but there's an additional menu which, until now, is only accessible via on-screen display (by using the live-out cables). For those who didn't notice these infos in the manual (like me), here's a step-by-step guide on how to use it:

My 2nd runcam2 died too... just stopped working, not sure if it's just the power button or what.

Well, finally a reason to try fixing my first one lol. Smile

And the reflash procedure worked! YAY! Big Grin

The PDF guide is pretty exact, except there's quite a few more times where the system checks for new drivers, even in the middle of the flashing process, and the last screen (realloc...) didn't appear at all (might be system specific, i'm using XP), but it all worked flawlessly.
