Rotorgeeks FC not connecting after flashing
#1
Heya folks,
I've just placed a support request @ rotorgeeks,
fiiiinalllyyyy got my SSD-FC's today, but upon trying to connect them to my pc (windows 10), I just couldn't flash it.
The usual VCP/stm32/zadig-routine didn't work either,
but for once - tah-daahh, the ImpulseRC diver fixer came to my rescue!
I finally could enter DFU mode then and flash the latest firmware version (3.1.7), but - helas - no connection possible afterwards. PC just doesn't see the COM-port.
No help from Zadig and friends either. No re-flashing on connect, nothing.
Just a solid blue led.
I'll let you guys know if I could solve the problem with the help of RG's tech support,
in case anyone has encountered similar problems and found a solution, please let me know!

Keep it up, everyone..

Can the fc be forced into dfu mode by shorting boot-pads? That would probably allow re-flashing... don't think it would help much though. But you could at least try 3.0.1 if it supports that board.

Did you try it on another pc/tablet or something as well?

Heya fftunes - Theeere you go, you were right! It was my PC - after trying on the office-Pc the problems resolved, so I went to reverse-engineer my home pc and set it up anew,
now everything seems to work. Neat FCs, really! Wish I only would have more time to jam them into the next builds..
*bloody windows, however..!!
Thanks for the input, take care and enjoy flying!!
Hasta priesto,
E

There's a good fix for that.

It's called Linux!

Or macOS!  Tongue  (And that's from a former uber-Linux geek - it's all 'NIX)

Yeah, macOS is OK but it only runs on Apple hardware.

Their hardware isn't bad, but the prices are rarely what you'd call affordable.

Agree - no offence to Sir Sloscot, but Apple-stuff is like all shiny and nice production quality, but on the backs of thousands and thousands of exploited workers who don't really get anything from it. For me, a conscience-issue, but I agree that they make conceptually mature products. ..just feels like the Gucci of the PC-world to me ROFL
I've been tempted, though, I admit, I've been tempted..
