Roll Rate and Expo?
#1
Ok, so I've finally got my little 250 in a fairly stable config.  Here's a quick video of a couple of flips (my very first flip was about 2 minutes before this).  To get the roll completed quicker, would I increase roll rate, RC rate, or Expo?

Sorry about the lack of details. I wrote down all my current settings for RC/Rate/Expo in CF and then left the paper at home... Duh!

Edit: I *think* RC Rate is 1.0, RC Expo is 0.8.

try increasing your rc rate a little.

If you want to adjust only roll speed, then up roll rate Smile
I normally just leave RC rate at 1.0 and adjust roll/pitch/yaw rate separately to get to what i want...
Expo will soften your stick input around the middle, but your rotation speed will be the same at the end of the stick.

I don't know how cleanflight does it now, but in betaflight rc_rate is more related to mid stick while rate is for full stick.

If you feel it is a bit slow to react on midstick, increase rc_rate (or reduce expo). If midstick is fine, adjust roll/pitch rate.

OMG, this PID tuning thing is tough! With me such a super beginner, would you think that I should just stick with default PIDs and just practice flying?

And I obviously need a lot more than 2 4S 1800 mah batteries!

As long as the quad +/- does what you want... Yeah keep flying Smile
You can always ask how to adjust PID if you notice unwanted symptoms (basically any uncommanded movement) but imho it's important to first get the stick feel right using rates, expo etc. (which to a certain degree can be done in the transmitter as well, at the beginning i used expo switches until i knew what i wanted it to feel like).
