Review of Eachine E010S - The tiny badass
#1
[Image: IMG_4986-700x350.jpg]
Discovery Eachine E010S a Mini (nano) drone for Maxi FUN time.
You probably remember the build to create a nano drone FPV from a Eachine E010 !?
Eachine understood that there was a vein to exploit and pulled out a ready-made version, and "upgraded" this nano FPV UAV, the Eachine E010S .
Sold around 50 € without coupon code, I am sure he will seduce you! (me anyway I'm in love)
No need to assemble, no need to tinker ... we bind its remote control, you put your glasses or mask FPV on the head and go for maximum pleasure.

In those days, rainy and windy, this little nano racer is just awesome and great interior.
One can thus quench his thirst for FPV even during the worst days, all without moving from the sofa[Image: 1f642.svg]

Technical data
Nano drone "brushed" 65mm motor with motor protection ABS propellers and a carbon structure to rigidify.
Based on a flight controller in cleanflight F3 with integrated radio receiver (and possibility of flight controller updates)
With a CMOS camera 800TVL 1/3 TX 25mW combined with 40 channels in 5.8GHz (AIO)
4 coreless motors Type 615 that rotate at 59,000 rpm.
1 1S battery (3.7V) of 45C in 150mAh
All this for a weight of 26g ready to fly!

To know that this drone nano comes in 3 different versions to order based on his radio.
There are DSM receiver (spektrum, devo under deviationtx) in Flsky and FrSky (Taranis, Q7 ... in D8 mode)

Unboxing
Quite baffled .. I order a Eachine E010S and book me a box of QX100 ... WTF ???

[Image: IMG_4926-150x150.jpg] [Image: IMG_4927-150x150.jpg] [Image: IMG_4929-150x150.jpg]
I open the box and ... relief, I discovered a manual for Eachine E010S!

Removing the manual of the box, everything is protected in the foam.
We distinguish a small bag into a gap with small equipment and under the large square foam hopefully find the craft!

Bingo! While stuck, well protected and fully assembled. There is no risk to regain the form of puzzle.

The small bag is removed from the opening.

Unpacking the small bag.
2 elastic to hold the camera, 2 double sided foam to pick up the camera, a set of spare propellers orange, a USB key that can load a 1S lipo and a metal key (no it is not a piece of nail clippers) which allows easy removal of the propellers when they are replaced.

The E010S Eachine out of the box .. cute and cuddly!

Tour
Front view, the antenna of the radio receiver is not super well placed but is not disturbing because is not facing the camera.

[Image: IMG_4943-1024x683.jpg] [Image: EACHINEE010S-5-1024x768.jpg]
Side view. It's clean ... no son overflowing in all directions.

Rear view.

View of the other side.

View from above and especially its antenna clover 3 lobes.
The antenna is very light and looks fragile with copper .. Here we must make a compromise between lightweight and sturdy.
In my case, once it is slightly damaged, I would replace it with a simple piece of wire cut to the correct resonant frequency ..

This will ease a little more overall, make it more compact and above all it s' less easily hang trying to pass in tiny places.

Bottom view.
A housing dedicated to the battery has planned.
Warning a 1S 150mAh battery just came in, do not expect to install a larger capacity.

The 615 coreless motors (6mm wide, 15mm long).

The propeller is nested on the motor shaft.
I did not put the nail varnish or glue, here propellers great fit on the shaft!

While there is only 65mm motor engine, the external dimensions are they necessarily superior.
Allow about 83mm side to a height of 33mm outside antenna (antenna + 34mm = 67mm high)

[Image: IMG_4958-1024x683.jpg] [Image: IMG_4959-1024x683.jpg]
[Image: IMG_4962-1024x683.jpg] [Image: IMG_4963-1024x683.jpg]
Nano weight without battery is 20g and 25g with the battery (1g or less than the weight informed by the manufacturer).

[Image: IMG_4966-683x1024.jpg] [Image: IMG_4970-683x1024.jpg]
Battery
We are provided with the machine a 1S battery (3.8V) from 150mAh to 45C.
The connector used is of type 2pins 1.25mm ... often used on such small machines (in case, we can find alternative connectors - see here -)

If you want to find other replacement batteries (I will give you the link to a pack of 5 + charger in the links at the bottom of the article) following dimensions:
Length: 25.5mm - Width: 17,7mm - thickness: 6,85mm - Weight: 4.8g

[Image: IMG_4954-1024x683.jpg] [Image: IMG_4955-1024x683.jpg]
[Image: IMG_4957-1024x683.jpg] [Image: IMG_4967-1024x683.jpg]
Before the first flight do not forget to charge the battery.
Impatient ??? do not worry, such small batteries charge quickly!
Connect the battery with the supplied USB key, plug the charger into a USB or free port on your PC.
An LED in the USB key illuminates during charging.

Light off? unplug, place the nano and FLY!

Program
Above all it will make the bind with your radio.
The bind is so very easy and is very well explained in the doc ... I'm not going to re-explain the process, simply read the manual (which can be summarized by a single sheet).
The BIND button is located in front of the camera, at the base of the radio antenna.

To adjust and update (I have not tried because mine works just fine) flight controller Eachine E010S, you need to have the Google Chrome browser and have installed the application "Cleanflight" available at this last. I suppose it's also possible to Betaflight on the flight controller but for a nano brushed I do not see the point.

Connecting a USB cable between the USB port located behind the camera and computer, install the driver is allowed and when it's ready you press "connect" at the top right of the program.

The firmware version (firmware) which is in one in my possession is version 1.13.0 cleanflight for flight controller types SPRACING F3.

However, if you have made a ball, too have changed the settings and do you get out more ...
Here is the backup (dump) of origin Eachine E010S for the 1.13.0 version of cleanflight .

Character I left the basic settings on this machine ... that flight as a rail!
Camera side
The image of the camera is just wow!
The details are present thanks to 800TVL, rendering very good color, light management is very good.
By against the image appears in the 4: 3 which extends slightly into my glasses 16: 9.
It's not a bother to use you worry.

On the side of the camera there is a small button that lets you configure the camera.
1 short press changes the channel (frequency), 1 longer supported (1.5s) changes frequency band, 1 very long press (3s) of the PAL to NTSC and vice versa passes (blue LED lights to back of the camera when in NTSC mode).

The built-in camera transmitter emits 25mW (maximum allowed in Europe) in the band of 5.8GHz and has 40 channels.
Red LEDs located at the rear of the camera indicates which channel / band we are.

There are 8 channels (frequencies) of 5 different bands as follows:
  • Band A: 5865,5845,5825,5805,5785,5765,5745,5725 MHz
  • Band B: 5733,5752,5771,5790,5809,5828,5847,5866 MHz
  • Band E: 5705,5685,5665,5645,5885,5905,5925,5945 MHz
  • Band F: 5740,5760,5780,5800,5820,5840,5860,5880 MHz (Fatshark)
  • Band A: 5658,5695,5732,5769,5806,5843,5880,5917 MHZ (Raceband)
The camera's viewing angle is given to 150 degrees horizontal and 170 degrees diagonally.
I almost made a very correct picture and without much strain for a so-called wide angle.

Autonomy
Do not expect to steal ... hours
2 minutes 30 seconds in a quiet flight.
1 minute 30 seconds in flight full throttle!
It's little, but with a 150mAh battery you should not expect much ... and that's not bad!

Do not hesitate to order some lipos and an extra charger like this one for a few extra € .. (the purchase link is - here -)

Note that the connectors on the battery are different than the original .. Either you replace the one that connects the battery to the Eachine E010S to use the battery shorter or using the converter extension provided (it adds a little weight but it is acceptable)
Some additional readings
Able to recharge the battery with the USB charger.
One 510mA charge ... between 3 and 4C.
[Image: Conso_batterie_charge_E010s-529x1024.jpg]

The transmitter is configured on the Fatshark channel 5 (F5 - 5820MHz)
View the spectrum analyzer on all the video 5645MHz - 5945MHz (300MHz bandwidth)

On video
Consider cutting the sound, this video comes GROSS my built-in recorder to my SkyZone glasses!
Beautiful picture is not it? Shut down the sound before you'll start the video

Conclusion
Great, just great!
I have fun like a kid in the house with this little nano brushed FPV!
Nothing more to say ...

... Except perhaps his relatively small time of 2 min 30 sec in cool flight, which goes down to 1 min 30 sec if there is gas all the time bottom!
Better to keep some extra batteries !!!

Questions answers
Following numerous questions, questioning and requests, I decided to add this game to give answer and leave a trail.
  1. Q: Is the Eachine E010S is compatible with my Taranis?
A: Yes, it is compatible with your Taranis provided to buy the model E010S FrSky and choose the mode to D8 model you will configure (in the menu where the bind option located on your Taranis).
  2. Q: Is the Eachine E010S is compatible with my smartphone?
A: No, this little drone is not compatible with your smartphone without adding a specific receiving device (eg analog receiver OTG presented in this article ).
It is neither wifi nor bluetooth, it is controlled with a model of radio and video back to analog video captures with a receiving device in 5.8GHz (dedicated receiver, goggles or mask immersion).
  3. Q: How can I receive the video signal from Backbone E010S?
A: You must use a 5.8GHz analog receiver capable of receiving one of 40 selectable channels on the transmitter of the drone (located on the camera).
You can use glasses Fatshark, SkyZone, the Eachine goggle One, Eachine goggle Two ( see this article ), a dedicated receiver (such as the one presented in this article ), a screen with integrated receiver, OTG analog video receiver for android (as presented in this article ) or any other device capable of processing these signals.
  4. Q: Can I place larger batteries on Eachine E010S to increase the autonomy?
A: Certainly, but it will not go into the slot for the battery because it is just for the original. It will take place otherwise ... Keep an eye on more than the capacity of the battery, the greater the battery is heavy, the worse the reaction of this device.
    - I tested for you a battery JJRC H6C, 1S LiPo 380mAh number of unknown C, 10.1 g weight, autonomy a good 5 min 30 sec, but it flies like a big plump pig!
    - Make more of a compromise and go to the 250mAh, it should do so (to be tested)
  5. Q: Do I need for a computer to configure the Eachine E010S?
A: Unfortunately yes, you need to install the program cleanflight available in chrome, as explained in the article, for at least verify that your radio is well recognized by the drone.
You will also ensure that all channels of your radio will transmit the right values on the right channels and the right way (visible in the "receiver" tab cleanflight). Stick to the lowest value should be 1000 at the center in 1500 and 2000 with the stick at the highest. If the values are different, please refer to the programming manual for your remote control to adjust (this is called the "endpoint").
For the rest of the configuration, the original drone already works perfectly!
  6. Q: Can I make flips / rolls, acro with my Eachine E010S?
A: Yes you can, it will configure the horizon flight mode (stabilized with the possibility of doing flips / rolls) or acro fashion (all manual) in the "modes" tab cleanflight. You may well set a switch 2 or 3 positions of your transmitter, set 2 or 3 flight modes and switch from one mode to another by pressing the switch in the desired mode.
Note, however, that this little racer lacks a little power given its small engines. You lose a lot of altitude during a figure, plan room and height to try!
