Replacement frame Nighthawk pro 200
#1
Hey guys

I crashed my nighthawk multiple times, but yesterdays crash broke an arm.
Are there any frames (other than a nighthawk frame) I could use? The FC has an X layout so small X frames would not work.
I'm mostly looking for another frame, maybe 4mm (nighthawk was 3mm), that would either be more durable or have the option to replace the arms.

I always practice over soccer fields. So dirt and grass. I broke the arm crashing into grass.
There are a lot of good frames, so throw me your preferred brand or frame Smile

(After the crash, I could safely plug in the battery, but could not arm the quad anymore. Hoping for some minor issue. Will post pictures in a bit :p )

I have beat the living  Poop out of my NOX5R if you can squeeze everything in it. It's more hybrid-X shaped than a true-X but still quite compact.

Also I have been thinking of a Pirate Frame for my next build. I linked to Zerpo's (one of the owners & designers) thread here on the forums instead of their webpage (his post has webpage link) just to show you the kind of people behind the frame as well Wink

yeah, I fell in the same boat with the Vortex... I got the wrong version that was supposedly race-friendly (I don't really see ImmersionRC and race in the same light lol) and had 3mm arms.

You could probably go with just about anything with 4mm arms... I agree about the pirat... As mentioned in the thread it's my interest these days. TBH I went with a martian which has done me very well... I managed to do a 220 build on my first go which says a lot! (now that I know better... even if she is a little sick right now).

good luck on it! make it indestructible and beat the crap out of it and destroy it anyway! That's kind of the mode I am in right now lol.

IT ARRIVED!! Smile

It helps remove any sharp edges that would cut into wires and straps.
If then sealed with a couple coats of CA glue, it helps to prevent delamination (spliting apart of the carbon fiber layers) in a hard crash.

Just don't forget to protect yourself, wet sand while wearing rubber gloves is my process to prevent breathing the dust and getting any in my skin too. Wink

Can't wait to see it come together! Popcorn

Once you're done sanding the edges, you can apply CA to seal it with a Q-Tip or hold the frame at a 45 degree vertical angle, apply a drop of CA and let the drop roll down the edge (this process is a little tricky but makes for a much nicer finish)

Bad news. I was testing if the gear from the nighthawk was all working fine before I started trying to put it all on the pirate frame.
I tested my motors and the receiver. I had issues arming since the last crash. It seems the receiver has a hard time connecting to the transmitter. It finally worked. So I tested the motors. They started up nicely and then this thing decided to just stop doing anything.

When I connect it to the computer it still gives me the sound of a USB connecting, but no lights on the FC blink and I can't open it up on Betaflight.

Poop hopefully one of our electronics/computer experts can help diagnose it and figure out if it is repairable.
