Recommended lipo charger

What lipo charger do you guys use?
Any good ones with built in power supply?
Since I'm only just starting, I guess I'm not really charging more than 2 at a time.

I use 2 of these, http://hitecrcd.com/products/chargers/ac...er/product

Sure they are on the high price side, but super reliable, and charge just about anything and everything. I have bucket loads of Lipos and I can't wait over an hour for a battery to charge.

Now, you may not charge more than 2, but if you stick at it, you will hate the day you have to wait around ..lol

My Advice.
Get the best possible charger your wallet can afford, and buy more lipos.

I just picked up one of these
http://hitecrcd.com/products/chargers/ac...er/product
built in power supply, charges lihv batteries. using the AC power supply it has up to 100w that can be devided into 2 channels, or if you get a DC power supply it's capable of doing 200w, 100w each channel.

I am using the skyrc d100 and I like it. It looks exactly the same as the one JimmyLe813 linked to and the specs are the same. Is there any difference between them or is it the same charger? I use it with an external power supply to get 2x100W.

I love this charger http://store.flitetest.com/imax-b6ac-pro...y-charger/

It plugs into ac power but can also be powered by dc power. Its simple to use and works wonderfully. I would totally recommend this charger!

A great plus of this charger is, if you are only charging 2 lipos, this one is quite cheap.

Yeah, looks like a rebranded charger. I use two parallel boards and charge 12pcs 1300mah 4s from storage to full in about an hour with this charger. I also have a imax b6 to charge my fatshark battery or other batteries if I'm in a hurry

For low cost, I agree that the iMax B6 charger (or any quality 4-button clone) is an excellent choice when starting out, as xtopher98 mentions. I used just such a unit for a couple years, until I wanted something with a little more output. Then, I relegated it to being a portable charger to use in my car, when I'm at the field. Alternatively, if you have VERY basic modding/soldering skills, you can build your own DC power supply from an old/retired computer PSU very easily & cheaply (almost free), which opens the door to many more economical options. There are lots of online tutorials detailing the simple process. I did this, and use it to power two (HobbyKing) X120 chargers, which allow me to charge up to 8 packs, using parallel balance boards! I've not seen a more economical solution for the amount of power it provides, especially if you get it on sale. Good luck, and have fun with whatever you choose!

I use the D100 and am very happy with it after upgrading from a cheap 80W charger from HK (which worked well enough for a long time). I would add that the D100 charges quicker than the cheaper HK single channel charger and I had endless problems trying to find a separate PSU that could actually achieve the 80W.

My advice would be go with an integrated PSU and the dual channel will give you a lot more flexibility. The D100, I think, gives you a great package for a reasonable price.

This look like an interesting charger:

You also get it in a 500w version:

Start with Imax b6 + grab a board for parallel charging (watch out for max W output (50)) so you can easily charge 2-3 batteries at the same time, if you are already past that moment go for some monster that can charge 100 or more W this will allow to charge plenty of batteries, and dim the city light all at the same time Smile
All the best

I'm still using my old Turnigy Accucel 6, it has been great and I've had it for a few years now.

This is the newer 80W version http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/sto...pable.html

I use a Turnigy Reaktor 300 Watt with HP DPS 600 power supply and parallel charging board.
This is basicly a iCharger 206B - just cheaper.

First I used a B6 ac knockoff from Hype (Hype X7 plus) 80 watts charger (which never went above 50 Watts -.-). Modifying a server power supply is not hard if you choose the right ones.
I've just finished a HP DPS 1200 x 2 supply, so 2400W @ 24,6V. Runs a little hot (even without load) but eventually I'll build myself a case for it.
