Recommendation for a Cheap Mini Quad Build for Beginners
#16
Goggles is a complicated choice and really has to do with multiple factors such as if you want DVR, Do you wear glasses? Do you need them to be compact or can you stand to wear a big box on your head? etc.

I used the following article to make my decision on goggles:

https://oscarliang.com/fpv-goggles-revie...k-skyzone/

Ultimately I'd say DoP made the Eachine Goggles 2 look pretty good for box style goggles and I've still been considering getting one of those... For compact fatsharks I'd say stick with the Dominator V3s rather than going all the way for the HD3s... it's not worth the extra $200... Then again if I were starting all over again I'd probably avoid fatsharks and go to the skyzones... So... like I said... it's compicated... either that or I cant make up my mind  ROFL

Depending upon how much price is an influence in your decisions (which I assume it is, since you clicked on the Cheap Build thread Tongue), I have a couple other suggestions:

Camera - $19.99 - https://www.banggood.com/600TVL-2_8mm-Le...86784.html?

This is the exact same as the HS1177, just unbranded.

ESC - $24 - https://www.banggood.com/4X-DYS-DS20A-20...39129.html?

Brand new DYS ESC. I bought a set, they look really nice for the price. Super cheap, and incredibly small. I haven't used mine yet, but they are getting good reviews. I don't expect any problems from DYS.

In terms of goggles, I can say this; I own both the Eachine EV800 and and VR008 (which I bought as passenger goggles). If you're going for the box style, make sure you get some with a higher resolution. It's very difficult to see branches and wires and little bushes with the VR008. They're okay if you just want to fly high in the sky, but useless once you start flying around things.

That being said, the EV800 are on sale right now for cheap, only $55 - https://www.banggood.com/Eachine-EV800-5...53357.html?

But they have an updated version on preorder right now, which I think is worth the extra money. Comes with diversity (will get better reception) and a DVR built in (records the video stream). It might be a little while before they ship, but you'll need time to build your quad, anyway.

Eachine EV800D - $85 - https://www.banggood.com/Eachine-EV800D-...50119.html?

Best of luck with your build! I suggest you save money where you can, because you'll be wanting to build a second quad very quickly Tongue

I can confirm this... I've already started thinking about the next one and I just got in the air yesterday. lol

Have to build one that takes everything you learned into account!
