RC Car ESC to XM+
#1
I want to connect a better receiver to my rc cars, two WLToys A959 1/18th that I've cam mounted(foxeer on one and a Turtle V2 on the other) with decent VTX's.

Current transmission distance for car control on integrated ESC with 3cm of wire is rubbish, no more than 30 mtrs on supplied handset and T-Lite(J4in1 has protocol) and I want to replace ESC with one I can attach an XM+ or similar receiver to get connected to my T-lite and do a lap of my local race track.

Can see plenty that have a 3 wire connector on them for an rx and sets with matched motors and servos, is that all I need and is it as simple as channel 1 throttle and channel 2 steering?

Any advice appreciated.

So I think I've worked it out now, ESC has 3 pin connector for output from a single channel on a receiver with multiple channel outputs, like ones sold with car tx handsets, yes?
And the 3 pin connector on the servo connects to another channel on rx and any channels left can beep a horn or turn on lights.

So SBUS/XM+ not gonna work for me here so I want a cheapo mulit-channel output receiver small enough to go under the hood that I can use with my t-lite J4in1.

Easier question now then, any recommendations?

Should have included that I have ELRS so think I'm sorted with Matek, HM and BetaFPV all offering multichannel ELRS offerings now, just not sure what the channels with TX n RX on them mean, hoping I can just utilise as basic channels and find some use for 5 of them! Drone launch release clamp or a big servo flippin arm to get right way up could be interesting.

BTW, thanks for all .... no, just leave it!
