RaceFlight Revolt Flight Controller
#1
[Image: KrE1wBUl.jpg]

Revolt
The RaceFlight Revolt flight controller is the most advanced, performance driven, flight controller ever designed. Capable of running 32kHz gyro sample and PID loop, the Revolt is truly at the top of its class. The Revolt uses a F405 MPU and a super secret gyro (SSG) in combination with RaceFlight software to give you the BEST performance possible.
Performance
The Revolt presents not only the BEST performance, but also the most STABLE performance due to the amazing vibration rejection technology implemented in RaceFlight. Our filters allow your quad to stay in the air no matter what! Damaged propellers caused by that insane gate clip on turn 3? Not a problem. You can still finish the race!
In addition to the vibration rejection technology, the SSG gives you the highest speeds currently possible with the lowest noise floor and highest sensitivity. The SSG has never been used in any flight controller before and definitely gives you the leading advantage over others.
Setup Simplicity
Simply install the Revolt onto your quad and get in the air right away – without the need for complicated tuning. The Revolt comes pre-configured with our latest official release of RaceFlight software for either FrSky or Spektrum (though it can be used on other receiver protocol brands as well). The solder pin layout is easy to read with motor connections in each corner. Just solder the closest motors and remember the order 1, 2, 3, 4.
Zadig and other complicated driver configuration tools are a thing of the past with the Revolt’s new driverless installation technology. Tired of messing around with Zadig or DFU to update your software? We were too, that’s why you no longer have to worry about messing around with them. The Revolt also features DFU free updating and a self-healing and updating bootloader, just in case something does go wrong.

So after speaking with a developer from RaceFlight i learned a few things about this board that i feel needs to be shared.
Let's talk about the "Voltage and Current ADC pins" for a second. These pins are not a direct connection to your PDB or battery like the vbat on the older F3 flight controllers. you will need to add two resistors for it to work. there are also two downsides also.
(1) it will add noise to the gyro
(2) it will make the pins non multifunctional.
so what do i mean by "non multifunction? which leads me to what i was told about these pins. RaceFlight added these pins for future development. i was told that they are working on a stackable PDB+VTX with built in OSD which will stack on top of these pins.
So for the current moment i was advised not to use these pins for that purpose. so if you need to get voltage information i would recommend using a Foxeer Arrow for now.

So it's a god-send, is that what they are trying to say? Big Grin

My pre-order arrived few days ago. I need to put it on a build. I hesitated last minute on adding it to an XHover MXP200B I just finished, but went with the HyperLite F4 FC instead because it was so simple to wire.
The next build will be perfect! | Fleet and build info | YouTube Channel |

It is Interesting that you say that if vbat is connected, you will get more noise to the gyro. So this could be something to think about when using any other fc with whatever firmware as well?

i was thinking the same thing oyvinla. cause wouldn't that be unfiltered power going into your fc?

I would think so. I just saw a video of a guy putting a capacitor on the battery pads on his kiss setup to get rid of mid throttle oscillations, but I was a bit sceptical to the whole thing, but since you also mention this I guess it could be more to it

ok so for connecting the frsky receiver is pretty straight forward. you need to bridge two solder pads on the bottom of the board for the proper voltage, which is the 5V pad to the VCC pad.

but just a heads up. there is no BLHeli pass through on the Revolt. RF does have a feature to flash and program ESCs but after doing tons of reading and asking questions. there seem s to be a bug or issue doing it throughout RF where people are bricking their ESCs and having to reflash the boot loader. so i was advised by another developer over at RF to use a board with BLHeli pass through to update my ESCs change all the settings i need to change before soldering to my Revolt.

Update: there was a little confusion about the volt pin on the revolt when i first asked about. it is ok to connect direct voltage from the positive side of your lipo directly to this pin for voltage monitoring.

I'm not sure if I understood that correctly, I barely just scan rf slack from time to time, but wasn't vbat issue fixed on some recent BB of RF?
Find me on Youtube and Instagram. I currently fly: DRC Aura, NOX5R, Minimalist 112 and drive a scrap RC car

when i first asked about hooking the lipo directly to the volt pin on the revolt, i was told i would need to add two resistors for a voltage divider. but now i'm told i can connect it directly. i've connected mine and it's fine. only thing is the revolt doesn't support telemetry to the taranis yet. i think it's working for spektrum but not taranis yet.

I have flashed my revolt with BF 3.1(using d shot too) and connected up vbat pad. I get the voltage in the config tab. Vbat section but cant get it to send to taranis.
Any ideas?
Tried a few diff port settings and inverting telemetry.
Hoping to get vbat working on BF untill they sort it out in RF then will give there software a go. Just dont wanna be without vbat.

as far as i know there isn't a way Saggynum. what i did was use a pdb with osd on one of my quads, and on another i'm using a foxeer arrow fpv cam.

My 2 cents:

It's a very capable F4 flight controller. It has the key features that older F4 boards missed, such as on-board buzzer driver; native support for SBUS and S.Port telemetry; LED strip support; and IR transponder support. It lacks an SD card reader, which for me is a pretty big deal, but not for everybody. And it's got a16 Mb dataflash, which will get the blackbox job done in a pinch.

But here's the thing... the reason you buy this board is because you think there is something to the whole Raceflight One 32 kHz Kool-Aid.

Just received my new RF revolt and flash with 413. The problem is I can't seem to figure out why my ports are stuck with Identifier and Rx options only. So far I am not happy with this board.

that's all you're going to get for now Rico. the only thing the ports are good for is to hook up your rx.
