QX7 firmware updated...now bootloader missing.
#1
Just updated companion to 2.2.1 and did the following:

1. Made sure I have the correct profile selected.
2. Switched my QX7 on in bootloader mode and plugged in USB cable.
3. Checked for OpenTX updates and when prompted downloaded and flashed 2.2.1 to my Taranis.

Unplugged and did a power cycle. On booting it complained about SD card version which I expected. Turned off the TX and tried to load Bootloader so that I can write the new contents to the SD card.

NO BOOTLOADER!! On pressing the trim switches and on button, the screen lights up and when I let go of the buttons everything turns back off.

I then copied 2.2.1 to my SD card firmware folder manually and did a "Flash Bootloader" to see if it will fix the problem.

No such luck.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Solved. Press both trims to the center and only "quick press" the on button. Don't hold it down.

WTF? Am I losing it? I could have sworn I use to long-press the on button.

The new firmware have changed how the power button works in the QX7 i believe... so that might explain the issue you had earlier...

Yes. I noticed the change in button behaviour but didnt expect the bootloader change. I must have missed it in the change log.
