Quick question about hooking up a Turnigy Evolution
#1
Hey everyone,

I've got a turnigy evolution on its way to me to replace a flysky fs-i6 transmitter. When I was looking through the stats of the evolution it states that it is compatible with the IA6B reciever which is what I already have installed. Does this mean all I need to do is bind the transmitter to the receiver and do the necesarry steps in beta flight? If this is the case is there any reason to install the new receiver that comes with the transmitter? I have copied the features below.

Features:
• AFHDS 2A RF protocol
• Compatible with the iA6, iA6B, iA6C, i10 & i10B range of receivers
• 8 channel 2.4ghz radio with telemetry capability
• i10 style customized Gimbals with dual ball bearing supports
• Illuminated gimbals (adjustable)
• Soft rubber grips
• Easy to use touch screen
• SBUS/IBUS and CPPM/PWM support
• 5 Model Memory
• Backlit LCD Screen
• 4 Stick Mode Selection
• USB port for Flight Simulators
• USB charging

Thanks!

yes this should mean you can simply bind your old receiver to the new Evolution . After the settings in the transmitter and betaflight it should work perfectly .

Hope you love the feeling of the transmitter in your hands as i do . it's great

Another quick question. My I6AB receiver is wired up PPM with a three pin connector that's white, red, black. I assume reds VCC and blacks ground, would that make white the PPM wire. I got a new receiver with the transmitter and wondering if it wouldn't just be as simple as plugging that connector in?

I know the new receiver is:

PPM
S.Bus/I.bus
VCC
Ground

So with the three pin controller could i just hook it up to the ibus port I know I would need to change settings in betaflight, but wasnt sure if there was a simple swap. I supposed I could depin the 4 pin connector that came with the receiver and put the wires into that to make it ppm like it currently is. Is there a benefit to using s.bus/i.bus over ppm?

Sbus is faster than ppm, has a bit less lag, though somw people don't even notice the difference.
Find me on Youtube and Instagram. I currently fly: DRC Aura, NOX5R, Minimalist 112 and drive a scrap RC car
