While flying my ZMR 450 the other day i lost orientation due to it being quiet high up. I know a lot of people fit their quads with LEDs to help with orientation but i decided im not spending any more on the 450 so i made a quick and easy DIY job.
I happened to have some led strips still left over from a DIY project i was doing late last year so i decided to cut to strips from it.
I then proceeded to remove the rubbery part at the end that is covering the connectors. This will allow you to solder on your wires.
I then proceeded to solder my live positive wire to the 12v pad and my negative wire to the colour that i wanted the LED's to be in this case Red.
Now before soldering this to the quad i wanted to check that it was working so i took 2 9v batteries and put them together and touched the wires on to the opposite ends.
Now that i know that it is working i made another on that is identical to this and soldered them onto my PDB. To make it easier i soldered them to the same pad as my from 2 esc's.
I then just quickly taped the leds to the arms of my quad and plugged in the battery to give it a quick test.
