Question about FPV camera and voltages |
07-Jul-2016, 11:37 PM Does anybody know if the Eachine Video Transmitter will have enough v to power the Sony Super HAD? Thank You 07-Jul-2016, 11:49 PM Short answer is NO, The VTX puts out 5 volts and the Sony Super HAD (if this is the model, Sony Super HAD II CCD 600TVL Board Camera requires 12 volts ). but if you use a pdb with line filters most have a 12volt and 5volt selectable rails on filtered power, so you could have your vtx powered at 5 volts or 12volts and your fpv cam powered at 12 volts. Always check the VTX and FPV cam INPUT power requirements before going live. Some say they do not need filtered power to fpv gear, personally I think it is a must, but that is just my view. 08-Jul-2016, 12:41 AM Thank You. You have been a big help. 08-Jul-2016, 06:02 AM The eachine also got a 12V pass through you can use to power the camera 08-Jul-2016, 11:31 PM oyvinla what do you mean by a 12v pass through? How does that work? How would I set that up? Thanks ahead of time. 08-Jul-2016, 11:56 PM (08-Jul-2016, 11:31 PM)jeffsmith Wrote: oyvinla what do you mean by a 12v pass through? How does that work? He means there is a PWR OUT + on the VTX, which will supply output power at the same voltage as what is going in, So if 12 volts is going in then 12 volts goes out, which would be ok for your fpv cam you mentioned, but if you went 4S then of course you will blow your fpv cam. 09-Jul-2016, 06:20 AM (08-Jul-2016, 11:56 PM)BigglesFPV Wrote: He means there is a PWR OUT + on the VTX, which will supply output power at the same voltage as what is going in, So if 12 volts is going in then 12 volts goes out, which would be ok for your fpv cam you mentioned, but if you went 4S then of course you will blow your fpv cam. That's right, I forgot to mention that. I always connect the vtx to a filtered 12V out on a pdb, so I get 12V out of the vtx 10-Jul-2016, 02:10 AM Okay I understand now. My setup should work then. Thank you to all. |
