One of the first guys I listened to that played the guitar in a very unique way was Andy McKee

The best finger style I can play.... or I guess the most impressive is Let her go from this tutorial.... the actual performance is right at the beginning.

Unfortunately I only have a recorded video of it on my phone and I don't really want ot go through the hassle of FINDING it for one, and for two getting it on my PC and trying to figure out how to get here lol. But this kind of thing really impresses me.

I say most impressive because people know this... but I used to be able to play he first 8-12 bars of the moonlight sonata.

I can't do the beat during fingerstyle that's the hard part!!!! It's SOOOO hard to pluck a string normally and also bang the guitar to make a drum beat. I tried learning Havana by camilla cabello (or w.e her name is) on finger style doing the beat but it was impossible lolol. The actual fingerstyle itself is easy, but trying to add a steady beat is friken IMPOSSIBLE!

I started piano lessons at five years old. It wasn't my idea, but my mother insisted.
I remember her saying, "One day, you are going to regret you didn't practice more."
Damn, she was right.

Lol same boat here. But I only wished I stuck with it so I could properly learn music theory and be able to sight read sheet music in classical notation. Other than that though, guitar is very different from piano and tablature still works.

Beautiful playing Ronin!

I tried to learn the electric guitar when I was in college, but put it down ever since I got my first job. Every year I try to pick it up again and it only lasts a couple of days Big Grin

Thank you sir!! I suspect like most others here who have DIY coursing through their veins, I am self taught. With that said, my parents did force me to take piano while I was super little but beyond being able to do-re-mi, I can sight read music notation as well as I can decipher Egyptian hieroglyphs lol. I rely entirely on "tablature" (which is quite literally like paint-by-number for music lol).

And something about music just moves me. I take forever selecting songs for my drone videos and take even longer to try and matchup the action to the music lol. Maybe I was a movie soundtrack guy in a prior life lol. But what gets me most is the (literal) feeling I get playing a song on the guitar. You can feel it physically resonate against your chest which is ... super trippy lol.
