I used to play the piano, then B-flat trumpet, then E-flat Tenor Horn...but that was a long time ago. Now I just seem to spend my time struggling to help my daughter with her piano practice whenever she gets stuck. So I seem to have lost some of the musical ability I used to possess. Sorry

I started playing guitar back in 6th grade, then off and on for 30 years. Really haven't picked it up for any length of time for 15 years.

I tried picking up the guitar multiple times without much success. Still have a nice guitar sitting in it case.

My guitar practice has only recently been picked up again. Should have been more regular, you lose a lot if you don't play from time to time...

LOL, this is our altar and shrine.  I will try to get a recording...I can lamely play.  I was in a girl band in the 80's with a couple of friends.  It was fun, but we were not really that good.



The Stratocaster on the right has a broken string, but the Squire (rebuilt with good stuff) is in working order.  It has been a few years since I made any noise with them, but this might bring it on!!!

Anyway this is just a quick video I recorded... I messed up the bend and didn't realize it until I re-watched the video, but w.e sue me, doing these recordings and getting it onto the computer is a pain in the ass.

I never said I suck.... but I'm not that good either.... I said that bend sucked... makes me  cringe  a little ;D

But that took me like 4 takes, an is 20bpm slower than the original 
I can get it 130bpm but the original is 150. 

I started at 16 played for like 4 years then played bass in a band for a coupl years then stopped altogether for 10 years only starting again about 2 years ago for like 4 months... that video was the end result of those 4 months and then I kinda got bored and haven't played since. I get bored of things. If I'm into something i'll obsessively get into for a while but then eventually get bored of it and just stop. It's also no as fun to play alone, playing with other people is where the magic of playing music is. When I was in a band it was one of the best times of my life, waking up in basically a studio, setting up and playing music with an amazing musician every day then going to a band practice every week.... The guitarist was absolutely incredible but also a fuckin drunk paranoid schizophrenic manic depressive crack head (nothing about that label is inaccurate or tongue in cheek, it's all literal) who was off his meds. His GF was a huge junky and the so was the drummer. So I got left with some of the best times of my life, and habits I could've gone with out.

He's dead no but all the music we played were his own orginal songs and I only had one CD with only 2 of his songs but it's completely ruined. One thing I regret most is that I don't have his songs we played recorded... or I don't have any of the recordings of his songs we played. They were really damn good too! Man it pisses me off whenever i think of it that I don't have any record of us playing anymore. One of the biggest regrets of my life so far.

Edit: BTW I always wanted to learn some stuff on the ukulele ;D If you're able able to go into a music store and rip on a Uke ur so much less mundane than someone who grabs a guitar and plays some chords or riffs 
Also I love finger style. I do eventualyl wanna get a nylon classical guitar and focus soley on fingerstyle.

This kid is AMAZING.... and seeing him play makes me depressed hahah. A level of godliness tat would take me a decade of playing every day to achieve and just thinking about it makes me queezy
