Which flight mode to start with...

If you'll be flying with FPV gear right from the start, go straight for acro mode.
If you want to fly line of sight without FPV, angle mode will probably suit you best.

If you don't specifically select angle mode or horizon mode, then the quad will be in acro mode by default.
