Quadcopter not decelerating
#1
Hi, I'm having issues with the quadcopter not decelerating. When I throttle up it accellerate, but when I decide to throttle down it won't decelerate. I have to disarme it in order to decelerate and stop thw motors. Thanks

If you are testing the motors with props off on the bench then that behaviour is completely normal and is to do with the PID controller detecting no expected change in attitude of the quad as the motor RPM is raised, so it keeps raising the motor RPM higher and higher to try and get the quad to lift off the ground because it thinks there isn't yet enough thrust to do so which is why your motors can appear to behave erratically or spin up to max RPM by themselves. Have a watch of the following video to understand why. To get proper behaviour you need to put the props on and take it outside for a hover test. You will then find that the motors behave as commanded by your transmitter.

It does so also if the props are mounted incorrectly?

My beta twigxl 3” racer started doing this.. it was after a BIG crash at full speed into a light pole. I resoldered a component that got “moved”… (this is the same one thst was in a tree for 3 weeks).. i would drop the throttle and it seemed not so drop.. I had also added 3.5” props..
Not sure if it is the props or something got majorly effed in the crash… havnt gotten out to a open area and test it again.. I think my aio is having issues..

Are you holding the quad down when the props are on or does it take off and then try to fly away?
