Quad starts beeping as soon as I plug the USB
#1
Hi everyone,
after my first flight I noticed that as soon as I connect the quad to my PC, it starts beeping forever, while a blue light on the FC is flashing. The only way to make it stop is to turn on my radio, change the switch position to the beeper mode, and then turn it back off. However, if I disconnect the radio and reconnect the quad to the PC, it starts beeping again.

Is this a symptom of a major issue, or just a mistake in BetaFlight configuration?

In the Configuration tab of Betaflight Configurator, switch off the "USB" option under the "Beeper Configuration" section. That will stop the beeper sounding whenever you have the USB cable plugged in.

Many thanks, it worked straightforward. The problem was that having set the beeper mode to a middle switch position, when not receiving inputs from the radio the signal was set to 1500 by default. Is it possible to define the default value of the channels when the radio is off?

If you want to keep the switch centre position as the position which activates the beeper then the easiest way to stop the beeper sounding when you plug in a LiPo without the transmitter switched on is to make a slight adjustment to the mid point value for the output channel of the auxiliary switch that you are using to activate the buzzer. In your case that will be Channel 7 (CH7) on your transmitter which equates to Auxiliary Channel 3 (AUX3).

Select the correct model on your transmitter and then scroll through the pages until you get to the OUTPUTS page. Then scroll down to the buzzer switch channel (CH7 in your case) and move across to where the 1500 mid point value is shown, and change that value to 1600.

Then in the Modes tab of Betaflight Configurator, set the activation area of the Beeper mode so that it just spans either side of the 1600 value.

Now your beeper wont start sounding if you plug in a LiPo without the transmitter switched on but it will sound if you move the Beeper switch to the middle position Smile
