Is putting puffy Lipo in the freezer a real solution? Anybody got (scientific) explanation or is it a myth?

puffy battery means the end of their lives.
There are no fixes, so get rid of it before they catch on fire. it's not worth the risk!

Once a LiPo has puffed, it has been damaged. The puffy gasses don't go back into the cell, they escape through the liner. The gasses are the result of a chemical change that will not spontaneously reverse itself.

Batteries that are slightly puffed can still be usable, but they'll never be the same as new.

Tried to freeze a 4s puffed at first flight. No results. Not sure but it just increased the internal resistence of a little.
I have a couple of puffed lipo that i use only for workbench purposes without heavy Amp loads

No surprises there then.

If it's broken, it will stay broken. No amount of freezing will reverse the chemical processes that caused the battery to puff up in the first place.

yes,right, they are just good to test vtx,pdbs ecc because they charge fine anyway. but i will never trust a puffed lipo under more than a couple of amp of load

I hope that you never leave them unattended when charging and that you have them on a surface that can't catch fire when you do.

Once they're puffed, they're a hazard, particularly during charging.
