props pop off brushed motors - solution?
#1
I keep losing the propellers on my micro quad, they just pop off in crashes every easily.

The motor shaft on a 8.5mm brushed motor is about 1mm in diameter.

Both cheap Hubsan props and rolling spider props don't fit very tight. Props keep flying off every crash

Do you guys have any tips on getting props to stick better to the motors?

Try to drop some glues at the very top of the shaft - either super glue or epoxy, so you can still remove the props off the shaft. Make sure you let it harden before you try to fly.

If could just be the cheap props, I have no problems with my ladybird recommended by Oscar.

CurryCats idea is a good one, and I used to put my props in the freezer for a while for my little micro quad and then they were a nice snug fit. :-)

LOL, that probably last only 1 flight before the prop hole expand, then props have to go back into the freezer again for more cooling Big Grin

LMAO, I know it sounds funny, but it works for quite a while, the plastic props seem to do well really cold, mine were lasting at least a full battery or until I crashed into the cat, window, chair, fridge, my head.
