i was near asking what sepukku might be xD

looks very nice!

i prefer 3screw layouts
otherwise i like at least 1mm diameter over all at the motormount compared to the arm diameter, thisway you can be sure it will break on the arm and wont damage the motorbottom or brake there.

(cant tell it nicely, if the arem is 5mm wide, there should be 6mm carbon (motorholes excluded) on the motormount) is it somehow understandable?

seems i like to grab your stl file :-)

I know exactly what you mean Hugs.  The narrowest point on the motor mount is 10mm while the slimmest point along the arm is just outside of the motor mount at 7mm.  As for spacing around the motor mounting screw holes, there's a standard 2mm of spacing at the narrowest point.  I gotcher back bruh.   Big Grin

Also super relieved the arms fit on my printing bed.  That woulda sucked if I had to split them in half lol.

I just started to watch Netflix The Age of Samurai doco.

And this old pic of 1962 movie belongs here as homage to your upcoming quad.  Smile

Ohh such a sick documentary. Although it made reference to ronin, the story of the 47 ronin happened well after the Tokugawa dynasty. Really helped put things in context though. I suspect the story may have been different had it happened during the civil war era in the documentary.

Pretty much ready to start cutting some carbon fiber.  Not even sure Nick will be able to cut these designs but did take a ton of time to make sure everything was at least 1mm wide which evidently is the smallest he can cut.  But I always figure push past the limit then ratchet back rather than aim for below it.  I am really, really stoked by how these turned out ...   Big Grin

Oh man...... that's really cool. I really hope they can cut the kanji Ronin + sepukku on the base plate.

Thank you jasper for confirming you can read the kanji!! I'm not Japanese nor would I ever be able to tell kanji from ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs to be honest lol.

WOW. That is a SICK design. Although I took a real close look at all the less-than-90-degree angles and it looks like the designer took the time to round every pointed corner so it does not go below say 1mm in spacing. Looks like there is some skill involved in designing for CNC. I think I will go back and revisit some of the designs to see if I can eek out a bit more detail. It's super tricky this CNC stuff. 3d printing you just hit print lol.

I'm going with CNC Madness since they've been cutting my CF this whole time. I know very little about either CNC'ing or milling (are they the same thing? lol) but my sense is their milling is not as robust since they currently don't do 3d shapes. Put another way, they can cut curves along the y axis but not along the x axis. But Nick's customer attentiveness scores really high in my book. And the dude works like a machine.
