I start building my own quad and i have a problem that can't solve. My receiver is a FrSky V8FR-II 2.4Ghz 8CH Receiver and my FC is a X-Racer F303 V3.1. The V8FR-II works only with PWM (one cable per channel) and my FC has only 6 channels input. So when i put only 6 cables to the Rx, as the number of the input channels of FC, i have problem with the movement of the sticks on the Betaflight/Cleanflight configuration. My questions are: 1)To work the Rx, has to put 1 cable in every channel? (so 8 servo cables?) 2)If yes, then how i am going to wire them in my 6 channels input FC? 3)Can this specific Rx and FC work together? • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 You need to connect one cable per channel, but if your flight controller only has six inputs then you can only connect the first six channels. However, six channels should be enough unless you have extra hardware on the quad to control. If (for example) you had a gimbal that you wanted to control with channels 7 & 8, you could connect those channels directly to the gimbal. If the sticks don't do what you expect in the configurator then it's most likely that your channel ordering is not set correctly. FrSky receivers use AETR1234 channel ordering, so check that you have that order in the receiver tab on the configurator. • Posts: 1,773 Threads: 30 Likes Received: 1,199 in 755 posts Likes Given: 714 Joined: Oct 2016 Reputation: 45 09-Sep-2017, 10:45 PM (This post was last modified: 09-Sep-2017, 10:46 PM by RENOV8R.) Can you post a couple pics of your wiring, as it sounds as if you may be confusing signal and motor inputs/outputs. The X-Racer has 8 PWM inputs on the right side and 6 ESC outputs on the left side, so I don't understand when you say yours only has 6 channel input. • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 (09-Sep-2017, 10:45 PM)RENOV8R Wrote: The X-Racer has 8 PWM inputs on the right side and 6 ESC outputs on the left side Sorry, but that's incorrect. The OP said that he has the V3.1 X-Racer and the image I posted is for that revision of the flight controller. • Posts: 8 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 1 in 1 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Sep 2017 Reputation: 0 12-Sep-2017, 12:09 PM (This post was last modified: 12-Sep-2017, 01:23 PM by alexandros_.) I connect the first 6 channels with Rx and have the same problem with the stick movement. Also i checked if there was a problem with the binding of my Turnigy 9XR Pro with my Rx, but all the stuff was OK. I don't know if i have to do something in the Turnigy 9XR Pro, to work properly in PWM. (the only thing that i have done in the turnigy is the calibration) I post some photos... In the "Configuration" tab of BetaFlight, you need to choose "PWM RX input" from the dropdown in the Receiver section (and hit save). [Notice in the image below, mine shows PPM RX input.] • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 When you say that you have a "problem" with the stick movement, can you be more specific? Do any of the channels change when you move the sticks? Do the wrong channels move? Also, looking at your photos, you need to properly insulate where you have soldered the motor leads to the ESCs. The carbon fibre frame is conductive and if you accidentally make the exposed connections touch the frame, you will be unpleasantly surprised by the result! • Posts: 8 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 1 in 1 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Sep 2017 Reputation: 0 Yes i chose "PWM RX input" in Betaflight. I have no response of throttle, yaw, pitch and roll when i move the stickers in betaflight receiver tab. The only things that changes are the AUX1 and AUX2 as i move other sticks(see the picture below) of the Turnigy 9XR Pro (the other two, AUX3 and AUX4 are not responding too) Thanks for the advice...i am going to insulate them. • Posts: 8 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 1 in 1 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Sep 2017 Reputation: 0 12-Sep-2017, 06:43 PM (This post was last modified: 12-Sep-2017, 06:47 PM by alexandros_.) • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 Silly question, but is the green LED on the receiver lit when you are trying this? • Posts: 8 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 1 in 1 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Sep 2017 Reputation: 0 • Posts: 2,286 Threads: 38 Likes Received: 1,527 in 995 posts Likes Given: 1,881 Joined: Apr 2016 Reputation: 72 If you go to the CLI and type 'version', what does it show? • Posts: 8 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 1 in 1 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Sep 2017 Reputation: 0 15-Sep-2017, 08:41 AM (This post was last modified: 15-Sep-2017, 08:43 AM by alexandros_.) for Betaflight # version # Betaflight / X_RACERSPI 3.1.7 Apr 3 2017 / 22:34:08 (e1c4b5c) is the latest stable firmware for X_RACERSPI • |
