Power supply suggestions,mine just quit.

My power supply went out after 20 years of use so I’m looking for another unit.

I have a toolkit M6D charger and it requires 30amps and 7-28 volt requirement.

I found a 12 volt 30amp meanwell with these specs but whether it’s powerful enough maybe I need something bigger so I don’t respend later.
I’d like to get a 3D printer and I think they require power supplies?

 Meanwell EMP-360-12
 Input Voltage90~264Vac
 Output Voltage12.0 Volts
  Output Current32.600 Amps
  MAX Power359 Watts

Before I order a power supply is there a voltage and current rating that’s plenty for this hobby?

Typical 24V is recommended for some charger if you want to max out the wattage. Also the TS100 soldering iron do better on 24V.

Did you get a chance to read this?

The power supply you listed is fine for your charger, but I tend to go the cheaper route of hotwiring an old server power supply. You can pick up 600-1000W hp/Dell/IBM power supplies on ebay for $10-20 and rig them up. Just look up the model number first to see if there's a guide.

As for the 3D printer, they normally come with one Smile

+1 for used server PSU
Stacked for 24V (look for instructions on RC Groups)

These things were made to work

I am still using a 12v 360 amp power supply salvaged from an old 3d printer build.

But if I were to buy one I would recommend a 24v supply.

I have an old transformer in storage that has multiple outputs if I didn’t toss it.

Old battery chargers especially with boost for starting has some high amp rated power supplies.
Many times they will have 12,24,36 and 48 volt capped outputs for other devices made by the same company.
I like that toolkit variable power supply.Would be nice to have but they can be expensive.

I ended up getting Mean Well RSP-1000-24.
It should be plenty if I step up from my M6D.
