Poloroid cube
#1
Any reason why nobody seems to be focused on the cube which supposedly was really where there current buzz started from?

I'm thinking about getting something smaller for the diatone when I get it but was wondering if I am missing something?

As far as I can tell the image quality from the Poloroid cube, and frame rate is only at 30 fps.

Looks like the new Cube+ does 60fps (it's also $150 though).  Here's a comparison (including side-by-side footage) with the Hero4 Session:

Cube+ is 90 bucks on Amazon... that's part of how I became interested. It says it can do 1080p@60 and 720p@120 which is the same as my runcam2.

Quality in that video seemed OK...

You know as soon as you buy that, they're going to release the Runcam 3, Runcam Block, Runcam Transformer, Runcam Split:

Well I am not ready to buy... I need to prove to myself that I can resist purchasing... but I still shop a bit.

I've been thinking about one of these as a camera for the Diatone when it gets here... So I can probably stand at least to wait until it arrives as I don't have any plans of putting a camera mount back on the Vortex for a while so I still only need 1 camera until I get the 3rd quad.

Wondering what it will be like. I'd love a shape somewhere in between the runcam2 and the cube form... you know, a little shorter than the 2 and not as high as the 3.  Smile

Yeah, that wouldn't be bad...

I also wouldn't mind something that comes with or could be accessorized with different angle mounts. I don't have a 3d printer and often the mounts out there for the RC2 just don't fit my needs.

I'm wondering if with names like "transformer" and "split" if they are thinking of making the camera lens be able to adjusted and/or separated from the "box" somehow.

Hm yes, very interesting idea. Possibly wouldn't even need cam mounts then. But also, what if the battery was "split" from the main case, and you could buy a battery size that fits your needs? Big Grin
