Myself i'm a long-term video gamer who started with nintendo game&watch thingies, who remembers those? Then came consoles: NES, SNES, N64, playstation 1 to 4, and also PC every now and then and in between. Though i never played online multiplayer games - until MGO2 (online part of Metal Gear Solid IV) which caught me hard. It was awesome. Still is, some nerds made it playable again after official servers got shut down, but it requires a modded PS3. At that time Battlefield 3 came out - and i have to be honest - i started flying RC helis & quads because of Battlefield 3. For those who don't know the game, it's a real big playground with lots of toys to fool around. Funny summary here: Not playing it anymore since my 2nd ps3 died, and didn't bother to buy another one just for this game. On PS4 so far i haven't played too much. Most games not even worth mentioning. Dirt Rally is good. What games do you play? What's your favorites, what's the must-have-seen games? I thought that was like comparing flying in angle and rate modes. Interestingly, he stated that rate was more pleasant Posts: 1,149 Threads: 50 Likes Received: 704 in 450 posts Likes Given: 1,189 Joined: Sep 2016 Reputation: 30 That's a good summary! Personally i haven't played BF2 at all, and BF4 really not much (aim assist on consoles killed it for me). But before my friend did his first FPV flight, i let him fly the helis in BF4. He was like "but it's not gonna be that hard in real life, is it?" Maybe because until then, he was mostly hovering around LOS in level modes... After i started RC helicopters, i always wished the movement was not restricted in the games... would have been funny to fly inverted in the game, or even do hard 3D manouvers like tic-tocs etc. • Posts: 2,410 Threads: 136 Likes Received: 1,790 in 1,052 posts Likes Given: 3,302 Joined: Jan 2017 Reputation: 50 Ace Combat! Comanche is one of the boldest memories popping up, aside from the very early flight simulators. Strike Commander. And that Starwing game on N64 i think. Or SNES? lol. Oh, and Wing Commander and a few sequels. Hell yeah played those for years! Flippin heck, here comes Tom with another essay! 1st ever game I played at home... C'mon people who's with me... PONG! I can barely remember the house we were in at the time, must be around 1983 or (George Orwell's year!!!) 1984! 'Jet Pack' was the first 'flying game' I ever played, on the ZX spectrum, anyone else remember the half an hour of squealing from the tape loader before you got to play? Maybe I have a couple of years on you DroneOfPrey!? I invented a 'pooter game' which used a spray bottle and a large piece of broken mirror, mist spray along the top of the mirror and the jet spray/shoot the drops as they run down, who needs space invaders!? We played Super Sprint and R-Type on the Commodore64, Kick Off and Sensible Soccer on the Amiga & Atari ST. For years after my dad and I would play 'sensible world soccer', anyone with me? You could adjust the tactics, so the pitch was split into about 24 squares, and you could place the ball in any square and put all 10 outfield players in any square, so you could designate exactly where all your players would be, all the time, depending on where the ball is and which team is in possession! try and find that level of control with any FIFA/PES game! My mum got an Amstrad CPC464 for word processing, it came with DOOM but I never managed to get it to work, I had suspicions that mum deleted some of it so she could actually have some time on her computer, thinking back, it was probably because the monitor was black and white!! Then came Alex Kid on the Sega Master System, Mario on the NES and Mario Kart on the Super NES and Sonic the Hedgehog on the Megadrive, anyone else remember Earthworm Jim and Virtua Racing('s poly count of like 4!) if not you must know Road Rash, 150mph & a bike chain to the face!? My friend had a PS1 and we played Destruction Derby and Starfox (Flite Test made an RC model of the Starfox ship recently!) He gave me his PS1 after a few years, just before the release dual shock, remember the excitement of analogue sticks to feed throttle and brakes, tuning set-up's and the beginnings of a racing passion with Gran Turismo!? Played Tony Hawks Skateboarding (Melissa Steamer's combination of 'special' front flip and grind made for a 1,000,000+ point combo on level 1, anyone?) When I left school, got a job and an overdraft ( stupid Stupid STUPID!) so I could get a PS2 and play Metal Gear Solid and of Gran Turismo 2,3,4...! ok i'll shut up now *whisper* Skyrim is awesome!
