Just found this flow chart online, seems to be very helpful for someone new in the hobby.

You can't really tune P like that anymore... if you turn it up high enough for the quad to oscillate then back in down, it'll still be way to high.

Took me way longer to learn how to tune because I was killing myself with a P way too high when I thought I had it right on

For me adjusting P, I use high stick rates and do fast full inputs until I barely see a bounce after the input. Then I move onto full throttle punches under the goggles and look for ocillations and lower P as needed to correct

I've noticed that with a recording camera I can hear oscillations long before I see them.
