Ooops! Big Grin

It's always tempting to say "Well I might need to take it apart again, so I'll use the thread lock later", but if you have any significant vibration, it doesn't take long for the screws to undo themselves.

Which screws did you lose?

The best ones: motors.

I didn't notice until my second to last battery.. vibrations everywhere... I thought I had damaged a prop or something... but when I came into land I could hear the prop buzzing as it vibrated and was hitting something. I am lucky that nothing got damaged.

I'll order some new screws today and have them by the time I get back at the end of the week from a work trip so that I can get back in the air next weekend, with loctite

Once you start building your own, you'll soon end up with a good stock of M3 screws in varying lengths. Having to be grounded while you wait for simple parts is a killer.

I am not worried about being grounded luckily. No time to get in the air for the next couple of days and I'll be on the road Wednesday through Friday. So the next time I would have been able to fly was going to be next weekend anyway Smile

Glad to hear your rebuild is working though, even with the motor screws falling out! Smile

Good job! Thumbs Up

Lol "always listen to Uncle Unseen" ROFL
Also I dont know if you know or not, but Blue Loctite isnt too bad if you do have to take things apart. Thats why we dont use red Wink that stuff is permanent and will break things before it comes loose.

Ive also begun to give a quick tug and pull on the arms as a preflight check for every set of lipos I run (4-6) So far I have caught any loose screws before they have a chance to cause issues or fall out. So far Wink

Yeah, the blue definitely isn't too bad. Plus I got the chance to learn several things:
  • Always listen to unseen
  • Screws, especially mounting motors, come out easier than I expected
  • FCs are so smart that even with one of the motors only having a single screw in them it can still fly the quad!
  • I definitely spent too much for a "special edition" version of my quad which now with new screws will be almost completely reverted back to a 250 pro lol.. Maybe I'll just start referring to it as the "carl.vegas edition" :p
