Optimal PSU for ISDT Q60
#1
Hi guys, anyone got this LiPo charger?

Can somebody tell me what an optimal PSU (specs) would be for this charger to provide parallel 4*4S (1300mah) charging?
I have this one lying around from a busted Dell Zino HD410 Cry but I'm not sure if this will do.
It's a 130W, 19.5V, 6.7A...

Oops, can a moderator move this thread to http://intofpv.com/forum-lipo-battery-and-charger?
I was posting it in the wrong tab page appearantly...

That power supply should work quite well for charging 4 packs. With 130w/16.8v=7.7A you can charge the 4 packs at roughly (1.3Ah*4=5.2A) 7.7A/5.2A=1.5C. that being said, I have not taken any power loss into consideration, and I would probably not charge any higher than 6-7A on 4s with that power supply

What do you mean with

I believe it's best to charge your lipos at 1C to improve their lifetime, not?

Yes, most people will say that it is best to stick with 1c to make the battery last longer. On the other hand, they are being quite abused on a power hungry mini quad, so I'm not sure what is worst, charging at 2c or draining it at 80+amps on a mini quad.

I personally charge at 1c whenever possible, but if I'm in a hurry, I'll charge at 2c, maybe 3c.

Thanks oyvinla, I will start with my dell psu and mod it so I can use multiple connector types.
