omnibus gimbal control with inav?
#1
Tongue
hi all,
been building a 450 size quad as a filming and gps toy to play around with- nothing professional
now working (well) with a spr f3 FC running inav 1.6. the FC doing aux forwarding for gimbal pan and tilt just fine.

1) i wanted to use the omnibus AIO for cleaner osd hookup but i cant get the gimbal to pan/tilt.
not sure which pins to use-
when enabling servo and gimbal i cant get one of the motors to work (not sure if it was #4 or #1)
and non moving the gimbal

2) using a sj6 legend, have problems hooking it up for Fpv- what do i have to set up so the sjcam will send out video through the VTx?

thank you'll for any suggestions!
Barak

I'm not familiar with iNav so I can't speak on that, but as for 2) there's a whole list of reasons why an action cam shouldn't be used for FPV. You'd be much better off using a dedicated mini FPV camera, and the few extra grams of weight will have absolutely no affect on a 450-class craft

Which particular Omnibus flight controller are you using?

If you're using the F3, the outputs are not quite how you might think from the board's silkscreen. When I built a hexacopter with one of these flight controllers, the outputs for motors 5 & 6 were actually on the outputs for motors 7 & 8. I'd guess you have run into the same thing.

thank you renov8r,
i understand the cons of using the HD cam for FPV
but i would like to see what im filming realtime!
i dont want to mount the fpv cam on the gimbal for it would most likely upset the balance and stab.

my thought is to have a video switch between the HD and fpv cameras

Hi Barak, did you have success on getting the motors and servo gimbal to work on Omnibus AIO in INav?
