31 On the bumblebee I figured I'll go with 3.1.7 before I start taking it apart and changing the
receiver. When I go to connect to BF with current version, no problem. When I go to load firmware I get "Failed to open serial port"... try to connect to config again and no problem opening serial port
It has some stuff I can do at the bottom but I figured I'd ask you guys first if there is maybe something I am doing wrong.

45 Do you have "full chip erase" enabled before you try and flash?

31 yes, I've only tried it with that enabled so far.
I also saved all my settings via a dump in CLI so that I can put them back in after the flash.

74 02-Aug-2017, 01:39 PM (This post was last modified: 02-Aug-2017, 01:43 PM by sloscotty.) My Flip32 F4 (similar) required disabling chip erase, and enabling manual baud at 256000.
Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot - I also didn't use the boot-loader button. (But I use a Mac, so ymmv.)

31 I might try that. Actually if I don't have to erase that's just less work anyway if it carries everything over. I shouldn't see any major issues going from a 3.1.x to 3.1.x version right? Basically the only new thing in there is antigravity and the ability to turn off airmode (which is more function than settings anyway)

34 I think the f4 fcs needs to be flashed two times, first with full erase and second without. I know this has been an issue with the matek f405

45 It boggles my mind that with all the advances made in this hobby, that a simple thing like flashing firmware is still such a nightmare...........

5 I have the omnibus F4 clone also, I had a lot of trouble trying to figure out how to flash it correctly.
I'm using windows 10, and had to boot the FC into DFU mode by holding down the button on the board while plugging in the USB. My PC didn't recognize the board until i ran the impulseRC driver fixer (WHILE the board was powered on in DFU mode), when the driver was installed correctly, I then rebooted the FC in DFU mode again... this time betaflight can see it. I was then able to flash firmware, I used full chip erase.

31 Thanks for the advise so far
flashing without full erase didn't work.
I am not unhappy with my current version... maybe I'll just wait until 3.2... it's starting to seem not worth the hassle.
I have an extra omni clone that I was going to put in the pirat I may play around with it first to see if I can get the process down rather than possibly accidentally bricking my favorite quad x.x
