Hello, I am totally new to Betflight and FPV. I recently purchased a Tinyhawk 2 Freestyle, a BetaFPV LiteRadio 2 SE, and some EV800D goggles. 


I attempted to setup everything yesterday with intention to fly for first time after weeks of practicing on velocidrone, however, I cannot, for the life of me, get this quad to Bind to the liteRadio 2.
I have tried everything. Followed all instructional videos on the matter, followed every instruction to the letter, no dice.

I was following an instructional video that Joshua Bardwell about installing Beta flight and BLhelisuite, when the part about downloading Impulse Driver Fixer came up.
I started up the software and Betaflight went to DFU and proceeded to do it's thing. I then updated to latest firmware 4.2.6. 

I did this on completely, out of the box, stock settings and had not even tried binding radio to quad before this.

Did I accidentally screw something up in the Flight Controller by doing this? The radio is on the correct protocol (D8), and also in Betaflight. I did flash back to older firmware and CL dump from exmax website, still having the same issue.


I spent the entire day, literally, trying to figure this out to no avail. Can someone please help me here? I greatly appreciate any suggestions, comments or help of any sort. Thank you.

Also does anyone know the original BF version that the Tinyhawk 2 Freestyle comes with?

The Matekf411rx firmware should work, regardless of what version it is.

I read your other thread too. Basically, you pretty much tried everything that I can tell. I recommend you contact your vendor and get a replacement quad and radio. Because you actually don't know which one is the problem.

Update:

After hours upon hours of trying to bind it to D8 unsuccessfully, I changed settings in BF and radio to D16 (FRSKY_X in BF) to see if the radio was bad. Surprisingly, the bind worked this time and I can move the throttle and yaw, pitch and roll.


To reiterate, when I first installed BF, I ignorantly went ahead and updated to latest BF firmware without saving orginal BF/CL first and before I even attempted to bind quad  to radio. 

I believe this is where the problem started. It seems like I must have messed up the settings by changing firmwares and CL files.

All of the original info in the configurator and receiver changed after doing the firmware update and all is out of place it seems. No longer lists THFII, and everything else is not as it should be.


What can I do to fix this issue? I need it to bind in D8 but since I screwed up the original settings and it does not bind successfully in D8 (no movement on the bars in the receiver tab when I make inputs on radio, so I have no idea where to even start. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or help.

Good that you stick movements. Next would be to setup modes and go fly.

Thank you for the response. Before I proceed, I ran the diff all command in the CLI and this came up, an error? What is the significance of this?

Don't worry about that. As long as you have stick movements, you are good.

I just got my kit with fat shark recon v3, and tiny hawk freestyle 2, and the beta fpv lite radio 2 SE. I’m having the same exact issue with mine! I can’t get any motor movement to show to bind worked. The betafpv literadio 2SE flashes 3 times showing it is bound to my thfs2. But it’s not doing anything. Still nothing no power coming from the sticks to motors. Even though there binded. Tell me please if you got it, I’m contacting my vendor but I’m thinking about just returning it. Unfortunately
