Noobflight on DVR w/music!
#1
Alright, I managed to catch my first day of flying on my fatshark goggles DVR... The video looks like crap, and being new I am really not doing anything exciting but I tried to add a little commentary and some music to liven it up. This is me getting up into the air for the first time for real

Somehow I feel like I should leave a disclaimer for potential newer people who haven't seen my other posts where I sort of repeat my situation probably more than I should. The flight in this photo is after extensive time on simulators running drills to learn the basics. Your experience on your first flight may vary. In many cases you might be better than me, especially if you spend more time on the sims than I did. Heck, maybe you can even turn to the right!... In some cases if you went straight to flying in RL and on day one you didn't clear small gates 2 out of the 5 attempts that you made it doesn't mean anything, I just have practiced a little is all Smile

At least you didn't have to climb a tree to get it like I did first time around......Great start! Practice Practice Practice...... that's how you continue to improve!

Yeah, luckily at that park the trees are the boundaries... if you go too far past them there is a mean old green beret just looking for a reason to chew you out if you put the club in jeopardy. I'll be staying on course and out in the "hard to walk on" field only for now... I'll explore more after I get better.

I'd say that's great for "first time in the air for real"! Not a thing wrong with your video! (However, I hope your choice of music doesn't reflect how you felt while flying...) Big Grin . If so, relax - you're doing great!!

better than my first time trying to fly FPV. i clipped a power line to a church and ended up having to fish my quad (or what was left of my quad) out of a river.

i also noticed that one of your gates was set up in a puddle of water which gave me terrible memories lol

@slscotty: the music was a pic based on the fact that the whole day was full of a nervous energy that I used to get during autocross (technical, low-speed, high-safety races) events. While the first song is actually titled "anger" there was almost no anger felt through the whole day!

@JimmyLe: I am grateful not to have shut down anyone's electricity... as for the gate in the mud-puddle, no one was going for that gate even the experienced guys. Too much risk... There was a guy with a toy that looked like a phantom that landed head first in there briefly but it came out clean in the end so we all were very happy for him!

I am very grateful that I found CCRC (Cobb County Remote Control modelers club) as the people there were sort of like the people here on the forum. Friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable!
