No GPS telemetry data on my crossfire tx
#1
I'm trying to put the last GPS position tracking app on my radiomaster Zorro elrs with a crossfire mini tx module and a drone with GPS and crossfire Rx.
I have a good GPS fix and my osd gets telemetry data including GPS. But in telemetry /discover new sensors on the tx I don't see any GPS data on my Zorro screen so can't complete the tracking app.
Any suggestions please? The YouTube I'm following is using a Zorro elrs and elrs Rx but he said it works with a crossfire rx

Are you getting any of the other FC related telemetry options such as LiPo cell voltage? If you are, do a delete and re-discover of the telemetry sensors. If not then make sure you have the TELEMETRY feature switched on in the Configuration tab of Betaflight Configurator and that your wiring from Crossfire receiver to the FC is correct:
  • CH1 / OUT1 (TX) pad on the receiver -> UART RX pad on the FC
  • CH2 / OUT2 (RX) pad on the receiver -> UART TX pad on the FC

Thanks again for quick response.
I'm not sure which telemetry output option I select for uart4 GPS. It currently says disabled. I can choose ibus ltm mavlink or smartport. I have a crossfire sixty9 rx and I think the GPS uart tx/Rx connections are correct.
Actually just found it in the receiver tab where telemetry was disabled. So leaving alone the uart4 ports telemetry output setting for now
And it works now! Excellent idea to have the latest GPS position on my tx screen even if the drone loses power.
Many thanks for your help Dr Snowleopard!

My bad. I remember now that the devs moved the TELEMETRY option from the Configuration tab to the Receiver tab in the latest versions of Betaflight Configurator, which makes sense because it's directly related to the receiver. When you're trying to recall things by memory it's hard to keep track of the location of some things in the different software versions. At least you now have it all working Smile

If you haven't already done so, I recommend that you switch on telemetry logging so you have a complete log of your GPS Coordinates stored in a file on your transmitter, so if the co-ordinates disappear off the screen or you lose the RC link entirely, or the telemetry data link (either of which will also cause the live GPS coordinates to disappear from the screen), you still have a log of all the historic coordinates in the file including the important last few sets of coordinates. Have a watch of the video linked to below if you've not already seen it which walks you through how to configure that. It also works on EdgeTX as well as OpenTX...

I also additionally have the following LUA script installed on my transmitter that puts all the GPS related information on the screen and which will remain even if the RC link / telemetry link is lost. It also keeps a log file of the last 5 position coodinates in a log file on your transmitter. Maybe you already have that installed but it might also benefit others reading this post who don't...
