Newly installed ELRS stuck in wifi mode
#1
Hi,
I had to replace to ELRS receiver on my drone.
I tried for about an hour to get into binding mode, and now it seems to be stuck on wifi mode.
Although at the beginning it didn't but still wouldn't go to binding mode.

I am still a newbie with soldering, Could iit be a soldering issue?

Please give us all the details: receiver model is the most important.

New receiver is the geprc dual diversity module.
that is just flashing red, so thats no rf chip detected.

I attached a photo of how the old is connected and how the new one is.

Black is second on the connector and first on the receiver (ground) thats how it came from atomrc and thats how I changed it also.,however it does seem strange....maybe I need to swap the black and red?

You need a jewellers loupe or optivisor ideally and if not a pair of +6.00 reading glasses and a magnifying glass. Then go over all the joints you did and look for solders balls, bridging, etc. If you have any, then soak the area in flux and reflow the solder. Don't be scared to overdo the flux. If you have flux gel it's a bit easier than with the pen stuff.

As to buying quads from AtomRC, I don't know. I've never bought any of their quads. I tend to buy from the really big manufacturers only, although do have an AtomRC F411 FC somewhere that was on offer and super cheap. But in terms of prebuilt quads, I only tend to buy BetaFPV and maybe I would buy DarwinFPV, but outside of that I would rather build my own. If you build it yourself, you know the quality of the soldering and the quality of the parts, because you picked them and did the work yourself. Or as someone said to me long ago, if you want a job done right, do it yourself. I do, when I can.

I don't trust the quality of my work at the moment but I am getting there.

Let this thread also be a big warning about atomrc, they advertised this drone as bluetooth and wireless which is a lie, and they removed it from the description about a month later, probably after I complained.

Going to try solder the geptc receiver with a new connector, and if it doesn't work...directly on the FC.

Cable change and everything is now ok.
Is it ok to only use 1 antenna with the diversity elrs?
can I use the existing one?
I still dont have a duel diversity TX and the current one is mounted nicely.
