0 Hey everyone, this is my first post, and I'm just getting used to the forum. I recently bought a second hand FPV drone, and am having a blast with it, until the other day. I was flying my quad, all was going well, and suddenly I lost video all reception, even though the drone was only about 20 metres away from me. I crash landed, retrieved my drone, and everything appeared to be in working order. I thought perhaps my VTX antenna was loose, and that caused the VTX to short out, so I replaced it (luckily my quad came with spare parts). Turned the quad back on, and still didn't work. No signal on all channels, and I have no clue what to do. I'd really appreciate it if someone could lend a helping hand.
Thanks!

118 Do you know why vtx you have on the quad? Does the vtx have any status lights?
Without an antenna connected a vtx can damage its self within a few minutes. Some vtx’s have protection mechanisms to prevent extensive damage but its always recommended to avoid such a situation.

118 Is the VTX powered up? Do the led’s light up?
Components in this hobby are not built to last and often they just stop working.
Having antennas is a precaution but a vtx can still burn up if left powered on without active cooling.

118 If you have a multimeter then it best to check that the pads suppling voltage to the vtx.
If the FC is providing powering to the vtx then the vtx is probably dead. Also check the wiring at the vtx end while you are at it.
