According to BetaFlight that is to disable your quad after it crashed.

Yeh I read that too, it says to cycle the power but I have done and it's still there?

I have not used it. So I have no first hand experience. Have you look at the flight mode under "Modes" in BetaFlight. There should be a way to turn it off. You may have to scroll down a bit.

Which version BetaFlight configurator you are using and which BetaFlight flight controller firmware you are using? You didn't say.

The PARALYZE mode is mainly used by racers who crash their quad but aren't able to go retrieve it from the field while other quads are still flying around. It powers down the VTX to prevent it from interfering with other racer's video feeds. If you're not a racer then connect Betaflight Configurator to your quad and completely delete that mode from the Modes tab because it's not going to be useful to you and can just end up causing unnecessary issues.

I'm using the latest configuration and the firmware is I believe 4.0.0 but I have read it's a pre release version? I can't get on the "modes" options I belive I need to update the firmware in the controller to fix this? But I'm struggling.
I followed a vid on YouTube by joshua Bardwell called "modes tab not working" but it seems they've got rid of the version I need?
Would it be possible to use a older version of the configurator?
Sorry I realise I know nothing and I really don't want to annoy anyone by asking daft questions but I've been pulling my hair out!

Would it be possible to remove the PARALYZE mode using the cli? Just as a quick solution until I manage to get my betaflight modes menu working?

I wouldn't worry. You will be more daft if you don't ask any questions.

Sorry I don't know anything about BetaFlight 4.0.0. I did not start using BetaFlight until 4.3.

That said, it is kind of unreasonable not being able to get on the "modes" option in any version of the software. You do have to change modes to configure the quad.

So the question is if your quad is really "connected" to your computer and BetaFlight? Sometimes watching too many YouTube videos can really confuse you. Especially when they talk about things that are not relevant to your situation.

Go back to the basics and start simple. Before pulling your hair out, make sure your quad is connected and you can actually see the picture of the quad moving on the computer screen within BetaFlight.

Thanks I really appreciate your help.
Iv connected to betaflight, I can see the quad move and everything seems to be working other than the modes menu (the program crashes when I try to go on that)
Iv paired my controller and that looks to be working OK too.

You could update your FC to the latest version of Betaflight, but if you just want to stay on Betaflight 4.0.x for now until you know everything is working then download and install Betaflight Configurator 10.5.1 which is the version of the configurator that was released alongside Betaflight 4.0.x. You can download Betaflight Configurator 10.5.1 from the following link...

Thanks 10.5 still didn't work but 10.3.1 did. That's great thankyou.
I can now get on the modes tab but the paralyze option was off?
I'm gonna have to go to bed and im away for the weekend so I'll have to come back to it Monday.
Thanks for all your help.

I missed the fact that it's an F3 FC, so the latest official release of Betaflight that works on an F3 MCU is 4.0.6, so you won't be able to update to any version later than that anyway.

When you get a chance after you are back next week, please run the "dump", "diff all" and "status" commands in the Betaflight Configurator CLI tab and copy/paste the results back here so we can take a look at what all your Betaflight settings currently are.
