Newbie here, shopping around for a first build.
#1
I've been looking at the drone building/racing hobby for a while now but haven't been able to get into it yet due to lack of funds. That changed recently, and I got a Blade Inductrix (non-FPV) RTF from a local hobby shop, and I'm hooked. Definitely bummed I didn't get the FPV version, but that's also more money to put towards a proper build. I was looking at OscarLiang's beginner guide (https://oscarliang.com/build-racing-dron...parts-list) and was planning on getting that, with a Turnigy 9X TX and the iA8 RX it comes with, as well as Eachine EV800D FPV goggles.
Is there anything I should change off that list, or anything I should know?
Thanks!

if i am right the receiver you wrote will not work with a usual flightcontroller. probably someone else can answer about aswell..

there is a lot written about the partlist, do you have a specific question? diffucult to answer, i guess the question is to general. its a very good example partlist. you can post your detailed shopping list like this; https://intofpv.com/t-shopping-list-for-first-build

I was just wanting to confirm that there wasn't any super outdated parts on the list or anything like that.

the list was updated in april 2019, its pretty actual. if you had a look at the link, the shopping list is near but a bit less expensive. the mamba stack is very good value for money in my eyes... there are endless options, you can have a look at rotorbuilds.com.

edit: this receiver should work with your turnigy and a usual flightcontroller: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-ia6c...tore=en_us

(im not sure probably you can use some flysky receivers aswell??)

The list is pretty solid. Up to date components.

I would probably go with a different radio. Although yours will work, it is not very popular. For a little bit more, consider the Jumper T12 or the Frsky QX7. There is also the new Frsky X9 lite. If you can afford it, you want to spend money on a radio and goggles. These two things will be what you will continue to use.
