Hello, I've been doing research around the web to try to get started into FPV 250 flying. I'm very exited about this but i want to get as much knowledge as i can before purchasing the parts and getting started. I need help understanding what i need to know to choose the correct motor. Whats the difference between a 1806 2300kv and a 2204 2300kv? and which one is better? I have some experience flying drones but mainly they have been toys like a MJX X600, i want to get into something more real specially into the FPV world. Also, is their is any websites you guys recommend for me to do research or maybe find other parts? I've been using amazon but i'm sure they are missing a lot of the better parts for this market. I'm completely new to this and just want to learn and get into it so i'm a complete nub hahaha, i would appreciate any help or tips you guys wanna give me for getting into this. • Posts: 78 Threads: 17 Likes Received: 3 in 3 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 5 Check out thread here for suppliers. OpenPilot has some problems, since they split up. Baseflight ... no comment (google yourself, Cleanflight vs. Baseflight) KISS FC .. upcoming but the documentation and user help is not as big as Cleanflight. You won't need a "Deluxe" board (Baro, Mag). Better invest the money in props or a spare motor/esc. At next, get an RCGroups-Forum-Account since this forum just started out. We can help (or at least try) but RCGroups is just the biggest help. 2204 Motors have a 22mm diameter and are 4mm high. 1806 are 18mm in Diameter and 6mm high. 2204 has more torque since the lever arm is bigger. It has slightly more copper on it and is better with 4S. i would suggest you a 2204 (not bigger) with either 2300kv and 5x45 or ~1900kv with 6x45. Until you master this it's a long time. 2206 has more punch but gets expensive. So much for now, just keep asking questions and we can help ... don't wanna write a book if you know half of it xD Cheers Diego Sky is where the fun begins! And a thank you like yours encourages even more =) When i started out i was happy everytime someone threw information at me. But be careful, some of this is my own opinion. And i'm still learning all the things, so it can be that i'm wrong. Sorry to Oscar, totally forgot about his blog :/ Scroll through it, not only the part list. (I know this answer sucks, but let me explain) 1. Maybe the information is already in a thread. If you can't find it you have two options 2. Post here for general questions FOR YOUR BUILD or questions about my suggestions. 3. Post a new thread for another topic that hasn't been covered yet 4. Post a reply in a topic, if the answers don't satisfy you. That's how i would do it. Cheers and happy building (and flying) Sky is where the fun begins! Partially. Naze was developed with baseflight afaik. The dev of baseflight is an a****** ... So Hydra (Dominic Clifton) forked baseflight and created cleanflight with a good development. Since it got so popular Cleanflight was ported on multiple devices, even on CC3D (i have one flying it). CC (Copter Control) was OpenPilot, indeed. CC3D was their "Acro" board, the "Revolution" the "professional". I flew both and got stuck at cleanflight. My Tip: Take Cleanflight, learn on it and later on you can still try the rest. Get a CC3D so you can try both worlds or get an Naze rev6 for only Cleanflight. Sky is where the fun begins! Or is their a specific one you recommend? • Posts: 76 Threads: 13 Likes Received: 2 in 2 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 3 (22-Jan-2016, 04:46 AM)joserendon5102 Wrote: CC3D doesn't come with cleanflight right? i gotta change the firmware myself? Or is their a specific one you recommend? Yes, CC3D comes with OpenPilot I would be so arrogant to say: No FC will come with the most updated firmware. Flashing is easy and part of something worth learning. (Like forgetting a backup ) I would recommend flashing with an FTDI (especially an CC3D) beacause of the bootloader. Get this the Cleanflight Configurator and look at the "Firmware Flash" Tab on the left. It's pretty self explanatory. Then check out how to use an FTDI. CC3Ds come with all the cables you'll need to hook it up and flash it. For further questions, you know where to find us ^^ Sky is where the fun begins!
