New HyperLite frame by Pyro Drone
#1
[Image: LtNsoCGl.jpg]
so i'm going to give this new frame a try. utilizes a kind of stretched "X" geometry. kind of like a "H" frame turned side ways. it comes in a 3mm and a 4mm version. i'm going to be using the 4mm pictured above. the 3mm version is suppose to be about 13g lighter.

it's about 132.5mm from side to side

and about 154.5mm from front to back

i will be using a Kombini FC, Tiger F40 II 2400kv motors, and TBS 25A BLHeli_S ESCs. haven't decided on the vtx yet. so i will be updating this as i go.

Thats a really sweet parts list Jimmy, looking forward for your feedback.

I got my eye on that frame for my next build, it looks very promissing.

so after getting everything together, i plugged in a battery and the buzzer went crazy. so i took it off thinking i'll just try to figure it out later. i started to set the reciever, and went into the transmitter tab to check my sticks. then as soon as i armed the copter, the receiver went dead. now the only way i can power the board is through the usb, andrew there's no power going to the receiver. so tomorrow i'm going to switch out the Kombini FC for a SP Racing F3. but here are some pics of what it was looking like before it decided it didn't wanna cooperate.

so i had to pretty much do a complete rebuild because i was unable to get the Kombini to work. i ended up using a SP Racing F3, and maitek pdb, pyro drone fpv cam, La Forge vtx, frsky xsr reciever.

Final thoughts on the frame:
good frame, simple unibody design, with very minimum hardware
tight build, can't use pin headers so will take a little soldering skill.
the 3d fpv camera mount is sold spepartly but is a must have.

my final parts list for this build is:
SP Racing F3 Flight Controller
Tiger F40 II - 2400KV Motors
TBS 25A BLHeli_S ESCs
PyroDrone FPV camera
La Forge VTX
FrSky XSB reciever
RK 5040x3 Props
GoPro Hero3+ HD Cam (when i record flight video)

Maiden flight is with default PIDs on BetaFlight 3.0 all i did was raise the rates a little.

What issue did you have with the Kombini? Been considering one, but a few people have complained of issues and boards being doa. I have one of their piggy osd, but for the life of me can't get the pass through to work.

when i first powered on the Kombini for the first time i had a smoke stopper on it, everything worked fine, left the smoke stopper on to calibrate esc's, set modes for my transmitter switches and all the little finishing touches. when i was done i took the smoke stopper off unplugged the usb, and when i plugged in the lipo, nothing happen. the only way i can power the board is through the USB. i guess i can fly the quad with my laptop but i don't think i'm going to get very far. i emailed helidirect and it's been almost a week with no reply.

That's very disappointing. I heard furious fpv was not so great on customer service. Makes reluctant to try the fc. Wanting to add osd to my rig and their piggy osd isn't working so well for me.

sorry to hear that bro, the concept of their products are great. now if only they can get it to work reliably. i have a piko blx on my 150 which works great. but i guessed it's hit and miss with them.
