New FPV goggles - Fatshark Base HD
#1
Interesting new goggles from Fatshark, the Base HD.

The BASE HD is a successor of the previous Fatshark BASE SD. Unlike the previous version, the BASE HD incorporates LCD screens capable of high-definition (HD) video of 720p.

The FOV of the new headset is unknown but is rumoured to be the same as the previous model at 35 degrees.

Rumour Spec:
  • 720p LCD screens
  • 1000mah 2s Battery
  • HDMI Input
  • Headphone/audio port
  • Single control IPD adjuster
  • Inbuilt internal fan
  • 3D support
  • Brightness/contrast adjuster
  • Eye cup fitment instead of face-plate

There is no built-in DVR, also it requires an external receiver or ground station, attached via the goggles HDMI port. Looks like it's designed for the emerging HD live video market, such as the DJI mavic, and the Connex HD system or their new Falcore RTF drone.

Rumour price: $350

Man, $350 really isn't a great "starter" price.

And those are not starter goggles Wink

But yeah, 350 bucks for those... for me they are the same as Doms v3.... with limited features... with the same price tag Wink

I really wanted these but the FOV on these goggles is way to small,
Tommy couldn't even see the difference between the HQ and HP on the connex prosight,
On my Fatsharks HD3 i can see a huge difference,
The problem with the HD3s which i wanted the Base HD to solve with the new screens is the bad contrast ratio the HD3 has,
My HD DVR recordings look so much brighter but not over saturated like when adding contrast on the Fatshark.

Bommer, really...
