I'm going to build a new quad. What do you guys think about this setup?

- Geprc mark 5 dead cat frame 5"
- dji o3 unit
- FC Betafpv F722 Aio 35A, 40A peak (mounted with an adapter 30,5 mm to 25,5mm holes)
- motors iflight xing2 2207 2755KV
- HQ props 5x4.3x3 5043 v2s 5043
- gps flywoo goku gm10 nano v3
- vifly finder v2
- battery lipo3S, liion3 and 4S Sony vtc6 and vtc5a.

liion cells would be for extreme flighttimes. to extend the flighttime 6inch would be benefical.

as liion cells has a wider voltage range and the voltage does drop fast and longer, we fly liion cells on a lower voltage than lipos.
on a 3s liion, the voltage would drop under 9,3v, that will increase the current and might end up inefficiency, not to mention the handling.
i would suggest to use at least 4s liion. some molicel 21700 would give a big pack.

i tried sony vtc6 18650 6s on 1750kv, higher voltage might be benefical for the weight and voltage range of liion cells.
ecalc.ch might know where the sweetspot between voltage and battery weight might be. maybe 200g 4s lion battery on 2700kv is better than i can imagine :-)
3s lipo could work better than liion.

what would you expect about ability for acrobatics and flighttime?

What is the purpose of the build? Freestyle, Long Range, Cinematic, Racing?

What you have described is an experiment that my not fly very well. Hug has it pretty down to rights in his evaluation. From what knowledge i have, it will not work particularly well. The motors are too low kv for 3S. 4-5S maybe. Li-ion is pointless unless you are looking specifically at something that will fly a long way. The HQ Props suggest a freestyle build, but you wouldn't run Li-ion on a freestyle build.

So be a bit more specific about the usage case for the build. That will allow people to give you better advice.

Good point about the voltage drop on 3S liion. I need to rebuild some 3S liion to 4S. The purpose of this quad will be just cruising around, maybe some tricks learning but for that i want to buy 4S lipo later. I don't want to compromise video recording capatibilities so i didn't choose an x frame but dc (props out of the frame). I won't be flying LR but I apprecieate longer flight times on liion just cruising and exploring.

I estimated the weight and it should be approximately 540 g. with 4S 1500mAh lipo 11 min flight time, 5.8 thrust to weight ratio.

That's fine. A general cruiser/exploration rig will work. I'd keep the Lipo for tricks and the Li-ion for the exploration, general cruising. Just be aware flying for more than 10 minutes can get kind of boring very quickly. My personal limit is about 10 mins. 6 mins of freestyle/tricks is much more fun.

I've got a tp3 toothpick in analog. Just flying around on 2S liion vtc6 can get me more than 20 minutes flight time and it gets kind of boring xD Especially when the quad is so heavy that it feels like an air lorry.

looks nice :-)

if you run into issues with the gps, i would mount it more far away from the o3 antenna.

After first test outdoor the GPS got the fix pretty fast on the groud and kept around 14 sattelites. I had an idea to mount it on the front (plate over the camera). It will all occurs during flights.

I am also going to make a 4S liion vtc5a but long and flat to fit the long top plate on the frame and I'll compare it to the short and high liion (on the photo). The weight distribution over the frame will be different.
