New Airdata Website - OK To Fly
#1
For those who use the UAV Forecast app on their phones to get an idea of the weather conditions or if it will be safe before going out to fly, you might be interested to know that Airdata have just launched a new website that does a similar thing. The 5-day forecast is free and for the 15-day forecast you need to be a paid-up Airdata subscriber. The link is below.

I wonder where they source their weather data from? It's completely different to Google and the BBC.

Also, a 49% chance of rain is not 'OK to fly'!

The ground is for dead people.

UAV Forecast uses the Dark Sky API to get its data (see HERE) so maybe OK To Fly uses the same. I don't know, but the data is supposed to be more accurate than what you get on the usual weather websites, and you get much more accurate wind speed and direction reports that are very localised, unlike the "general" figures you see on the BBC or Google.

On the UAV Forecast app you can configure your own thresholds for each item, so maybe that's a future feature they intend to bring in. It certainly seems that they need to Big Grin
