Need some help troubleshooting
#1
Ok so I had a pretty bad crash today. I was flying for about an hour. When I think I went behind a group of trees. When I lost video feed I made a split second decision to disarm. Not sure if this was right move, but didn't want to crash into anything. When I found drone the cover on vtx was popped off and a reciever antenna was popped off. Which makes me believe it crashed on its back or on its aft were antennas are. Now when I plug battery in esc's initialize motors, but when I arm motor number one sputters. So question is before I tear into drone to problem solve what do you guys think it might be? Here is a video of what it is doing.

Couldn't see your radio but I think I heard your ESCs make contact to the fc right before you disarmed, that's the last two beeps in the start up tone. First guess would be you've got a loose signal wire on motor one.

Take off props inside is the first step, yikes! Be safe :p

Next... I'd check for debris inside the motor (maybe you've already looked/blown it out with canned air?) Then I think I'd do what trollhammered said and check wires for solder joints coming loose or something like that...

Yeah I didn't take off props just for video purposes. Esc's initialize motors, but when motor one stats to spin it sputters then make another beep and shuts off.

That's a bad connection for sure.

It may be invisible if a wire has nearly snapped off inside the insulation and after a bad crash, things like this can easily happen.

The safest thing to do is take it all apart and then carefully and methodically check every connection with a multimeter.

Just on a side note and from my experience.
But I like to power my Tx before the model. Keeps risks of crazy things happening down when you power your RC. Most of my experience comes from ground vehicles, where I have had a couple incidents when they can randomly rev up and drive off uncontrolled.
Just a practice I have followed for several years now Wink

Thumbs Up

The radio is always the first thing to be turned on and the last thing to be turned off.

Update something is wrong with number one motor I took it off, and hooked it up to number 2 still sputtering. Anyone know how to take stator off to see if a wire is broken inside. Bearings all feel ok rotate smooth not feeling any catches.

Can't tell from the video what motors you've got there but there are typically two options to remove the bell. On the bottom you'll have either a C clip or a screw. The latter is much easier because C clips have a tendency to bend or even brake. How ever once either is removed simply fighting the pull of the magnets is all getting in the way from the bell sliding off. A broken winding could definitely cause the motor sputter but I find it odd that you'd get the last two ESC beeps which implies something's wrong between the ESC and the FC.
Another observation from the video, are those bullet connectors right at the zip ties?
