I´m flying in HORIZON mode now, at the begging I was in ANGLE, next step is ACRO, but I´ll only move to acro when I start to fly in FPV, not sure if is a good idea to use ACRO + LOS... Any kind of comments, advises, suggestions (as long as not offensive) are very well appreciated. I'll ignore that you were quite close to the street since you kept it well in the middle of the field. You seem to have learned orientation pretty good already (for example when flying towards yourself), i honestly think you would learn acro LOS pretty quick. But maybe in a more secure spot. Just start slow, and don't go too far. As for Acro in LOS... I've done very little LOS flying... (maybe 5-10 batteries total since re-visiting quads) I cant fly the self leveling modes regardless of how I see the quad to be honest lol... that doesn't mean that watching the quad wonder off because it's at the wrong angle isn't "OMG" worthy... I've indeed been worried about crashing into myself at least once. Keep up the great work! and definitely post the videos. Videos of members here on the forum are at least twice as interesting as the ones that rotor riot posts :p the proof is in Jimmy's win of the recent video contest. There is something much more appealing about knowing where someone is in their journey and watching them fly than just a random pro who is just doing their job and is probably burnt out :p carl.vegas Current Quads: Operational: Diatone GT2 200 In need of repair: Bumble Bee, tehStein, Slightly modified Vortex 250 Posts: 1,290 Threads: 67 Likes Received: 711 in 472 posts Likes Given: 1,216 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 23 I started out in LOS and I am still learning FPV. In my opinion, as you progress it is wise to keep your LOS skills sharp....you never know when you'll need them and honestly, I still enjoy an LOS flight now and then. fftunes is right though....chose you flying areas carefully......last thing you want is a rouge quad flying into a car, building or bystander...... Good luck and stay with it, you're progressing nicely! "Damn the torpedoes!!! Full speed ahead!!!" I´m coming from DJI Mavic, and to fly it, I used to go to gas stations on the middle of the road to don´t fly over the city due to the amount of interference we have I still need to find a better place for doing this. That is something I totally agree ! My concern about ACRO in LOS is that it´s ok when the quad is something like 10-15 meters from you, but when is further, is hard to figure out what is exactly it´s position (level). Thank you all! Trust me it's the same for all of us, unless your name is quadmovr or Dunkan Bossion lol LOS really needs a ton of practice to fly "blind" further away... Simple figures to train are straight lines and stops from side to side, circles, figure 8's. A very good training figure for starting is to fly in a T-shape, where you stop and turn at each "end" of the T. Imagine you were standing in the middle of a crossroad, flying down each street and returning, in every possible combination. |
