my latest 4" frame design
#1
kinda got distracted from flying that past month or two but after finally building up my new frame I can say im pretty pleased with it, especially surprised how well a small liight weight quad such as this can handle a gopro/rc3..

Also tested for 5s(big cheap racerstar 5s escs in pics), no idea how these motors don't melt on 5s but feels as though they run out of torque and only a tiny bit more top end speed is gained Dodgy

28g frame at 3mm thick and alu hardware, 34g for 4mm

can't wait to test hq's new 4x4.3x3 v1s prop  should be amazing with this set up at 240g!!

footage is uploaded in a low res as the cam angle was off in flight anyway, gives an idea of how good it can carry a hd camera though!

would that work with the Runcam Split?
240g, that would be below the UK registration requirement Smile

well it does have 30.5x30.5 mounting holes for the board and the split may fit with a 3d printed camera mount but really it was made just to fit the micro swift/foxeer, but it would be sooo tight I'm not sure if it could be done.. boy would it fly good though, I did think about making a rc split build but I hate the idea of the latency, but have never tried it so it might not be as bad as i imagine

and yeah I had been aiming to make it below that weight quite a while back but didn't think id ever see it actually becoming a requirement over here. Dodgy just as i was planning on building a 5 or 6" rig  Cry bad timing

The performance of this size/weight class would really suck if it wasn't for the powerful yey light 1407s we have today Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
